Blackpool Pleasure Beach: 2025 Discussion

Well, it seems to have partly been written by the Tussauds Group in the early 1990's to be fair. I joke of course.
To be fair, I am looking forward to trying this, regardless of the marketing. I have never ridden a giant topspin, so this excites me somewhat.

Just out of curiosity can anyone explain why the park would take out a loan for Aviktas, only to pay it off just five days later?

As it's an MR01 registered charge, it's likely for security purposes. Intamin will have wanted an ironclad assurance of payment.

As they've had their bank register a charge with Companies House, Blackpool Pleasure Beach provides a formal, legally recorded security. Intamin can see this on the public record and know that the funds are secured. Once contractual conditions are met, BPB can then complete the payment from their own cash reserves and immediately file the 'satisfaction' to clear the charge from their books.

TLDR: The loan isn't for a lack of cash, but to provide temporary, verifiable security to Intamin.

It makes sense, as it could be potentially bankrupting for a company to manufacture a multi million pound piece of machinery for it then not to be purchased, it has happened in the past. So I can see why companies would want such securities.

This is my 3rd successive year of not visiting the park despite it being a 45 min drive away.

I genuinely dont have any interest in going back this year either. Might possibly go back next year for the Gyro swing but alternatively I might just have a weekend at Liseberg instead and ride theirs. Cost me a fair bit more than a trip to PB but I know I will have a much better time and get to go back on Helix plus a few other top rides.

I cant for the life of me understand those in our community who still visit often. You must really love the place that's for sure. I haven't felt like that about PB for nearly 20 years.

You see, it was my first visit to the park in 6 years this year… but I live nearly 200 miles away by car and over 4 hours away by train (around 4h 20m now, with the recent termination of direct services between Birmingham and Blackpool).

I had a really good time there this year, and hope it isn’t 6 years until my next visit! If I lived as close as you, I think I’d be there multiple times a year!

What is it that keeps you away @Benjsh?

From the age of about 6 to being 21/22 I used to visit multiple times a year and back then I really had a strong connection with the place. Bare in mind though I'm now 40 so that was a long long time ago.

The ride line up just isn't for me I guess and my tastes have changed. I love my coasters but I don't enjoy majority at the park.

Icon, despite not being as good as it probably should have been, is a solid coaster and enjoyable. After that I don't really enjoy anything else that much not even the Big One. I like wooden coasters but not ones that are older than my house that make your bones and muscles ache for days. I'd rather ride Wickerman than the PB ones any day of the week.

Haven't done Valhalla 2.0 yet however did the original loads of times and unless I'm in Florida or the UAE I don't really enjoy getting soaking wet at a theme park anymore as it's impossible to dry off.

So yeah that's pretty much it. My theme parks trips are much less frequent than they once were but when those days come around I tend to go for top quality rather than seaside parks. I also love B&M's, especially their hypers and inverts.

Nice to see the additions to Wallace and Gromit today. Been added in really well with new sound effects and voice overs.
A nicely plussed ride.

them having Feathers disguised as a nun, and norbot charging to nearly 1% had me chucking everytime. And Ron Seal!

Big cutbacks to the rides available at Journey to Hell in 2025.

Valhalla, Big Dipper, Infusion and Wallace and Gromit have been removed from this year's lineup after being included last year.
Only Launch Pad has been added.

This leaves just 4 rides that can be ridden more than once during the event, compared with 6 last year.

For some reason I can't attach the images of last year's vs this year's.
