Blackpool Pleasure Beach: 2026 Discussion

Her ladyship doesn't want non riders on the park, so she sets the basic entry price so high that nobody takes it up, so she can stop offering the ticket as it "Just wasn't popular".

The consultants give expensive paid professional advice...but it is up to the gaffer to take it up.

Successfully got my season pass printed today. It features a nice silhouette of Aviktas as part of the design, and has a 'celebrating 130 years' badge in the corner. Subtle change to last year's, it now expires 28/11/26, the final day of the season. They're usually 31/12, as of course some of the partner parks are open later. Bizarre move as always.

Some noteworthy observations for this month:

  • A mystery surrounds Dodgems which has some wooden panelling leaning around the perimeter, not entirely obvious what they're building but I'd hazard a guess it's not a ride.
  • The fortune teller next door to PB Radio has become a small catering outlet selling jacket potatoes. Prices start at £9 I believe it says. Bet she never saw that coming. Not sure how big the spuds are, but that place previously held a medium.
  • Enso is now capped, and released in periodic batches throughout the day.
  • Some of the retail units are now selling 130 years merch. I am sure the fact it looks incredibly similar to Europa Park's 50 years range is purely coincidental.
  • Flying Machines are still running half speed.
  • The Aviktas logo can be viewed on the back of the Infusion catering units. Looks like there's still work going on to make those units look better from the ride.
Suspect many of you already know these two bits, but just in case:
  • There's now a WG Beans unit selling hot chocolate next to the Avalanche shop.
  • Alice and Ghost Train both have on-ride photos now. Ghost Train is on the drop, and I'll leave you to find the Alice one as it provides an excellent accidental jumpscare! Both photos can be collected from the Wonderland shop.

Holy cow, no wonder people leave the park to go to Spoons. No jacket potato is worth £9.

Pleasure Beaches is food might be expensive but it is high quality Loki's Bar Chicken is really great

Just a quick question: given that Nemesis is often affectionately referred to as 'Nemmy', and Oblivion as 'Blivvy', does this mean that Aviktas will be referred to as 'Vicky' ?

Or would this be problematic in case somebody mentioned "having a ride on Vicky" ?? (oo-er, missus!)

Then again, there is another ride in Britain which also has a woman's name (Rita), but this doesn't appear to cause any issues with double-entendres - although that could just be because nobody wants to ride it, anyway! ;):p

Not content with bringing up irrelevant theme park accidents, or horrific British murders, I see that we've now moved on to sexual objectification and casual misogyny.

Equating women to theme park rides is lazy everyday sexism disguised as banter. It isn't a clever double entendre.

Women do not exist as passive objects to be "ridden", and frankly I had hoped you were better than stooping to that level.

It'll be known as Spinny Snakey Features and you'll bloody well like it.

I thought that was Tina Turner in Tommy?
Oh, Acid Queen...close.

Back on topic, will we see the National open before the summer???

I suspect she will open towards end of June. A bit rubbish to be honest, but at least we can all have a good ride on her after that.

Rita - Queen of Speed - of course nobody has ever made a joke about this

Leave my good lady out of this !!

Have you ever wanted a...actually I've absolutely no idea how to describe this.

If you've got a spare £500 you can own whatever this is:

Own a true piece of ride history with this extraordinary headpiece, created to celebrate the iconic opening of The Big One. This striking, handcrafted display captures the essence of the world-famous coaster, featuring an authentic original Big One train element at its crown.

Expertly constructed with a sculptural wireframe design, the piece mirrors the towering structure and sweeping curves of the ride itself. At its peak sits the unmistakable train detail, finished in its classic colourway, instantly recognisable to enthusiasts and collectors alike. The suspended central carriage adds depth and motion, evoking the thrill and engineering brilliance of this legendary attraction.

This is not merchandise — this is memorabilia in its purest form. A true one-off, created as a unique tribute, making it an unrepeatable opportunity to own a tangible connection to The Big One’s legacy.

Perfect as a statement display piece, this headpiece blends artistry, heritage, and nostalgia into a single, conversation-starting centrepiece.
