The park has confirmed they will be remaining open at weekends through to mid-December:
Wonder if that will mean a later opening date in 2021 ?
2 months isn't a particularly long closed season if they were to open by the middle of Feb as they usually do.
One of his reporters went to ride the Ultimate after it hit the deer as well. I didn't remember that one. Not much actual discussion but kind of surreal to hear the Ultimate through the radio. There was someone on saying they owned a funfair in Exeter and they hadn't had any information from the government.Anybody hear Jeremy Vine on Radio 2? There was a roller coaster nut on there riding Icon.
Was funny
The launch of Nickelodeon Land at Blackpool Pleasure Beach was a big deal, it was to be a huge transformation of the popular Beaver Creek area featuring a bunch of new rides and the transformation of a number of existing ones.
Naturally, there was lots of hype around including this map and flyer that we share today.
You will note the planned Boots Beach Buggies is no longer advertised on the flyer, having been dropped early in the planning stages. The space was to be occupied by Super Quads when the new area opened.
I seem to recall it was going to be a Zamperla Flying Tigers, I think...? Drunk a lot since then. Was Boots Beach Buggies planned to be a ride, or was it an upcharge attraction like Super Quads is?
Well they are certainly getting plenty of publicity at the moment....
It's quite funny when she gets on the ride.
She didn’t look to be enjoying that!
Also, 88km/h is faster than I thought Icon was; I thought it was only 85? Rather mind-blowing to think that it apparently accelerates at the same rate as a Formula 1 car, as I must admit that as much as I adore Icon, the launches, while I don’t personally find them as slow as many make out, aren’t the most punchy I’ve ever done!
