Carters are auctioning various stuff next weekend - https://www.carterssteamfair.co.uk/open-weekend-and-auction/
Auction catalogue here, nothing particularly ride related bar a few bits. Some nice looking Dodgems. I am not going to go, or I will buy loads of crap I don't have space for.

This seemed like an appropriate place to put this, after the Carter's collection being broken up and sold off another heritage fair is finishing at the end of this season. Dingles is closing, with some exhibits moving to another site and others going into storage.
After the fiasco that Dreamland became, Carter's winding up, and now this, the opportunity to ride old rides is slipping away. While appreciating the extra effort required to keep these machines running and safe, I can't believe that an 'upmarket' steam/heritage permanent fairground at a costal or city park location wouldn't be financially viable. It's such a shame there doesn't seem to be anyone out there willing to take that risk.

That’s a real shame. That will leave Folly Farm, Scarborough Fair and Hollycombe as the main vintage fairground places. Plus there are still various steam rallies, although the largest one (The Great Dorset Steam Fair) has also been discontinued.
It does make you think that if all the public money that’s been ploughed into Dreamland had gone into some of these other projects, it could have done a lot of good. Just the £5.5 million of Heritage Lottery Funding used to restore vintage fairground rides for Dreamland could have been transformative at somewhere like Dingles.

While a lot of the rides have found ither homes, one is still up for sale. The Skid is a mighty mighty great ride, alwYs one of my favourites, and a thrill ride that has real rider imput. At £200,000 it must be in the range of a lot of small parks that have a bit of heritage around them. I'd love to see it next to the Junior Whip at adventure island.

If I had a bit of land I'd happily take it off their hands for that money!

How they were not able to come to a bulk deal with Dreamland boggles my mind.
Dreamland went from 'lovingly restoring heritage rides' to 'one of each from the Zamperla catalogue' over night.

Given Dreamland weren't restoring the rides themselves, and the large lead time on the rides being procured for restoration from LittleBoys, it makes sense not to rely solely on that platform. Really don't understand what happened with the Carters situation though, as they'd had great contact as far as I'm aware.
