Celebrity Deaths 2025

Lovely bloke by all accounts, but could we have a ruling here Sir.
He was famously not famous...an extremely private person and local (quiet) businessman.
He laid tarmac for a living...to a very high standard apparently, but was such a private person, that many people, mainly idiots, for many years, have questioned if he actually existed at all.
Was he, in actual fact, a celebrity?
Did he really try to get it on with Jolene down at the bank?
There is a clear theme park link here, so this is important.
We need some answers...
It's a bit of a moot point, really, as he wasn't on anyone's list.

As you may already know by now, I wasn't being completely serious.

Could I add the very famous gardening book writer (Garden Expert Guides), D.G.Hessayon has sadly passed away.
Fine Lancastrian.
I have at least a dozen of his books, old fashioned, no nonsense stuff.

Oh, my dad had quite a few of his books. Think he probably still does!

Legendary former heavyweight boxer George Foreman has died at the age of 76.

Won the world title twice, 21 years apart, with the latter being one of the greatest sporting shocks and comebacks of all time.

Not being a boxing fan, I know him more for his ‘Lean mean fat reducing grilling machine’, not that I use it often

Peter Lever, England test bowler, has passed away.
85, he had a good innings.

Born in Yorkshire, he had the good sense to play for Lancashire instead.
Famous for nearly killing a New Zealand batsman in a test match with a bouncer.
He nearly retired on the spot, but the batter later insisted he wasn't to blame.
I remember the big fuss, and bouncers were banned in all local school cricket soon after.

I'm going to tell the one billion Roman Catholics around the world your home address dippy in about half an hour, and how you described the beloved deceased pontif.
Pack a small bag quickly pal.

And I will not be putting the new pope on my own list...
Unless he comes from Yorkshire.

The BBC is reporting that mourners are now filing past the coffin of recently deceased Pope Francis.

I wonder if we'll be seeing another "Mourners per hour" statistical analysis from our own @Matt N in the ensuing days?
Are they live streaming it again? I’ll have to switch on the TV if they are!
