Rob Grant was brilliant. I used to love Red Dwarf, especially series 3 to 6, as it was true sci-fi, in that it made you believe anything was possible. The scene where Kryten tries to remove Lister's boxer shorts is one of the funniest things I've seen.

I liked Schopenhauer. Especially his bit about it not being worth bothering to work towards an achievement that you think will make you happy, because when you get there you will realize it didn't make you happy and then you will need to work towards something else that you think will make you happy. It won't make you happy, and then you'll die. So yeah, one of my faves

What he was jailed for is inexcusable in every way, but you have to wonder how different his life and decisions would have been if it weren't for the deplorable News Of The World stitching him up and destroying his career and reputation using their 'fake sheik', who was later jailed for tampering with evidence and proven to be a liar. Blood on his hands?
