Because they've literally used the Juvelen artwork but thrown a cat on the front to represent "the wild adventures".

It's the most basic artwork that has reused pre existing ones from other parks purely as mood boards and shouldn't really be looked into much.

No point getting excited really until there's some actual concrete plans in place. Rather than attempts to soothe the locals over.

PLEASE get a Juvelen clone or equivalent Intamin family launch coaster! It would actually work really well at Chessington with it being more thrilling than anything else they currently have but not so much that the upper age bracket of their target market won't want to ride. It's also a cracking little ride.
 
I believe those car parks are on green belt land and so the chances of them being allowed to Tarmac them are pretty slim. It has perhaps been included as an ‘option’ on that consultation to make the geogrid look more attractive to locals and planners so that they give them permission to use that surface which would still be an improvement to what is there right now.

Hopefully improving those fields will mean less people will avoid parking on them, freeing up the existing tarmaced parking for disabled guests.
 
This attraction desperately needs to be high throughput.

A GCI wooden coaster would be ideal if the park can get that through planning. I guess that's a no though because of the inevitable Wicker Man comparisons.

Intamin launch sounds like a good option but I would love, love, love to see something like DVH in the UK with a quality dark ride section and variable wetness. Sadly, I suspect if they go down that road we'll end up with something much more like Poseidon though.
 
I’m expecting nothing more than a clone of Duplo Dino Coaster and a handful of SBF flat rides. I’d love to see more, and a family launch coaster would be ideal, but I’m not getting excited just yet !

Do the car park staff not direct people or check badges like they do at Towers?

Even Lightwater checked we had one!
 
At Chessington today and a pretty serious incident has just happened. As I was queuing for dragons fury one of the ride hosts has fallen onto the track and the fall looked pretty nasty. The whole of the dragons fury entrance area is now closed and guests cannot access that area due to an ambulance coming in. Luckily the ride e stopped before the next car arrived into the station but I hope the lady is okay. I didn't take a photo as deemed it disrespectful to the situation.

Not all Blue Badge users are wheelchair users due to hidden disabilities. Gravel can be a nightmare for wheelchair users. Also those with mobility problems that are not a wheelchair user but are unsteady on their legs may also find uneven ground tricky.

Inside was pretty bare to be honest, I remember when it had even less decor when I was very young. It never had any features or much theme, especially compared to the (awesome) other stations round the park.

Jokes aside, this is fantastic news that they *might* finally be getting a new coaster. Part of me is expecting it to be something small and aimed at younger children, but I'd love to see a compact Gravity Group like Twister at the park. They don't require much height and can provide a metric tonne of thrills for all ages - they also feel different enough to GCIs to avoid it clashing with Wicker (although that's only if you're being analytical about how they ride!). Only issue is with the small Timberliner trains, Twister only achieves around 700pph. Chessington desperately need something with a capacity well over a thousand, which is the only major spanner in the works.

If I seem to recall correctly, isn't the field behind Land of the Dragon's greenbelt, hence why nothing permanent has been built there? That might've changed though.
 
It’s worth remembering that it’s only 2 days until the planning documents come out for the new coaster, so I’m order to keep my eyes peeled, is there any particular place where the documents will become available, out of interest?


I’m intrigued to see whether they stick with the masterplan, or conjure up something different entirely…


I must admit that even though I know this will likely be more of a family coaster, I’m actually really excited for this, because it’s the first time in years that Chessington has had anything substantial coaster-wise!

There's a lot of bare open paving for an Amazon theme.

Looks like a similar idea to Land of the Dragons though, perimeter coater with a few flat rides. If they broke up the empty space with something (animal exhibits, outdoor food etc) it would look a lot better.
 
Looks like a family boomerang, which is a little disappointing. At least, the family motorbike coaster would have been more unique to the UK, rather than another similar ride to Paultons (both will now have a disko, SBF drop tower and boomerang).
