Chessington World of Adventures Resort

Having ridden Poseidon for the first time this weekend, I won't complain if we do see a Mack Water Coaster at Chessington. The growing decline of UK log flumes isn't fantastic though, so maybe an Intamin Super Flume would also be well suited.
It is disappointing to see the growing decline of UK Log Flume rides without direct replacement. I always thought they were equally as popular as the rollercoasters.

I can't help but think this was a trend set by Merlin in 2016.

I think we might end up seeing a renaissance in the future though with flumes although more likely to be Super Flumes than a traditional flume.

I'm hoping with Paultons Park that their water ride replacement is a Super Flume.

At least we still have Valhalla, but something a bit less wet in the uk would be good. Can't see any new Rapids at all anywhere in the uk though
I think you're right about Rapids rides, they seem to be going out of fashion in the last few years due to the rides having to be tamed as a result of what happened on Splash Canyon at Drayton Manor.

I can imagine most of the current rapids rides going in favour of modern flumes in the near future. Although if any rapids come in the future, they'll be more substantial with drops and half pipes like Infinity Falls or Amazonia where people can't stand up so easily.

So weird that this has only become so much of an issue in recent years. Unless of course it was always happening before the Drayton incident but wasn’t seen as a big enough issue.

I don’t think I’ve ever been on The Gruffalo without staff on the intercom berating customers. It evidently happens so frequently they use a recorded announcement.

Guests have done far more than stand up on that ride.

It's always been an issue. Just presumably managed to avoid it being a major one until someone died as a result. Some of the videos of people being absolute idiots on Rumba Rapids for example aren't far away from being seriously injured thanks to their own actions. But of course if the parks aren't taking the correct mitigating action (like Drayton were found) then they get bollocked for it by HSE. So much like how Smiler's crash caused a big change in procedures, so too did the Drayton incident.

Not sure how reliable chessington buzz on twitter/x is but seems to be fairly in the know about the place they have teased project play area could be utilising cbeebies ip. Think this would be a huge miss when chessington has access to a huge untouched ip in cocomelon the show is in every country's top 10 on netflix and it's never left it since released and also the new show Cocomelon Lane is huge. Who wants another cbeebies land.

I don't think it'll be the Cbeebies IP however I wouldn't be surprised if it uses a bigger Cbeebies IP that wouldn't be done justice in the main Alton Towers Cbeebies Land. One IP that stands out for that would be Bluey.

Cocomelon, I'm not sure how well it would work for rides as it is aimed at a younger age group than Peppa Pig, Thomas and Bluey. I understand an Octonauts style coaster is being looked at for the area from the consultation.
