Chessington World of Adventures Resort

The problem is that the areas are allowed to get into such a state of disrepair that they either need to bin it, get a marketing ploy veiled as a refurbishment program or build something new instead.

How long was Scorpion Express sat unused for prior to things actually being done?

I think the point I was trying to make was we all know when Merlin are pondering changes because they won't do something in one land they've done in another.... Chessington it's the flooring. They did new flooring everywhere except Wild Asia, Mexicana and Land of the Tiger so.... It's kind of obvious. Towers it's a bit more subtle

what are they supposed to be doing?
should they have just closed the park, brought in a bulldozer and started from scratch?

these refurbishments take time to plan, aquire money, etc

there are also pretty negetive outomes if it happened at once (a lot of people would have a poor experience because more of the park is closed, and when it reopens you only get that marketing of new thing for a year, rarther than spread it out over multiple

I'm pro park - my original point was sometimes it's obvious some areas aren't being done. I'm aware how the procurement and costings process works. In CWOA case you know how much it costs to do that flooring so they'd do it all at once to be efficient and save money, the fact they missed areas off signposts that's next for something

Towers is a bigger park so not so obvious but leaving Walliams isolated or the Blade site gated off lends to the thought they may have plans but that's just a hunch

I'll be more excited when Towers and Thorpe inevitably show their hand for the upcoming challenges with Universal. Legoland no doubt too. ChessIngton have sort of shown their hand already plus the odd card they may have up their sleeve

The general public don't see the whole picture they see what's in front of them on the day

Next 5 years we'll see what appetite Merlin have - I think they'll surprise many
