Chessington World of Adventures Resort

Tuk Tuk was demolished and the cars were sold by a reclamation yard. It wasn't cited for saving nor was Temple of Mayhem
It has been cited as being stored along with Monkey Swinger. It's been explicitly stated.

Of course the building itself (or what is fixed) wouldn't be saved although the cars, track and anything that forms part of the ride system would've been stored for future use if they're going by what's been said on planning.

Link to summary of planning application.

Link to Document that states it.

With regards to the cars being sold by the reclamation yard, I'd like to see a source.

Chessington Buzz tend to provide on-location photos that would show something like this if it's indeed the case. Plans could change but that wasn't the plan on the planning application at the time.

Despite what's written the bottom left image shows that it was flagged as component parts saved only

Only Monkey Swinger was shown as stored on site and Kobra and Jungle Bus to be reused
Looking on that document, TukTuk Turmoil is in dark green like Monkey Swinger and the category of being stored although not ruling out that they're only saving parts now since the application.

The Catering Marquee is another notable thing that seems to be in the same colour too although that could be some sort of temporary structure they can easily reuse 🤔

Temple of Mayhem and the permanent buildings are in the dark red colour for component reuse.

Imagine going into next season without Empty Cage Falls, Vampire and still building Minecraft. Plus reduction of zoo offering (which is already depressing enough).

Not even the Paw Patrol could save the visitors.
Its not known whether Vampire will be closed in 2026 yet of course.

To be honest, Chessington desperately need Tiger Rock for capacity next season until Minecraft opens.

I'm glad I got to visit with my kids when it was in its "prime" as such.

Maybe I will go back in a couple of years when they have finished shipping all the animals out and rebuilding everything but it just seems like it would be an unenjoyable experience at the moment. I'm glad the animals are being moved.

I wouldn't be against Transylvania and Vampire getting an overhaul again to receive a full track repaint and return of original theming

I wonder if a Vekoma Flyer a la FLY at Phantasialand would work on the existing track layout? Would be a major overhaul of course but could give the rides many more decades whilst bringing it into the 21st century and also retaining the charm of the original. Flying through the trees and over the roofs plus the theming make it a natural fit. Could even extend it into the Trail of the Kings area (and a dark ride section plus launch in the "old" station though i'm heading a bit deep into fantasy realms now).

Not sure about the harnesses as even without inversions could be a much taller height restriction than Vampire which would be a hit but then Minecraft will somewhat be filling that void. If they can get it 1.2m or lower that could be ok.

The ride is the heart and soul of the park to me, the equivalent of Nemesis so even if it just ends up being a re-track of the current ride i think it's essential it stays in some form.

Vampire was the first UK true star coaster with added theming to the overall experience
