Chessington World of Adventures Resort

Seems Chessington has been busy over winter. With a repainted front entrance, Returning Waterwheel and painted up buildings in Adventure Point and Paw Patrol area still being constructed

Standard yes but still does not mean isn't hard work
Doing what is expected isn't really "hard work". They aren't particularly going above and beyond, compared to Paultons adding new dinosaur figures to an existing area which is adding something not expected, Chessington painting stuff is routine maintenance.

Regardless of how good the winter work is for Chessington, it honestly is a damn sight better than the state Towers is in. Low bar set mind you but that sums up this wretched company.

Hard to say really until the park opens in March? We don’t know what level of cleaning and painting is happening, but it does take place in February & March most years.

I get that. But I find it baffling that people on this thread currently seem to be criticising Merlin because they are doing maintenance work at Chessington during closed season.

Just because they haven’t done so in previous seasons doesn’t mean they should be criticised now. I’m no Merlin fan, but can’t we just move on from the past and be positive about what they’re doing now?

Merlin parks have always done maintenance work during the winter, it’s never enough in my view, and their parks are not kept to the standards they should be - but all the same - they do jet wash/repaint/repair/replace. Some of it is noticeable (or gets noticed), some goes under the radar because it is mundane.

It makes it even stranger that folks often act surprised when a picture of a repainted building or ride pops up - people must have short memories, because it happens every year.

It doesn’t appear to me that winter improvements / maintenance has got worse or better lately - it’s just the same level it has always been.

At the end of the day does the end result of a repaint it looks better. Which in my opinion the entrance looks much better in the new colours and the new Water Wheel look great

I don’t want to seem rude…. But every time I read your posts I have to read them three or four times. Admittedly I am dyslexic and that does not help. But please try and make your posts more legible.

I’m sure you have valid points but they just don’t come across.

Exactly. At times some management realised more work is needed leading to things like TLC at Alton Towers but they were jet washing and similar anyway. I’d celebrate a little more replacing theming like TLC did to Mutiny Bay and similar but just adding more paint is routine.
