I'd have a guess that the Frozen ride will be a duplicate of the Hong Kong / Tokyo versions which is a different variation on Seven Drawfs Mine Train. I think the Epcot version will be a one off due to its re-theme from an existing ride.

The Tokyo ride is a boat ride, hong kong are getting a boat ride and the coaster. From what I have read the boat rides will be very similar to the Epcot ride, just with a newer more reliable boat ride system. From what I read Paris would get the boat ride rather than the coaster.

While I would like the park to have built multiple rides in each land with the amount they investing in the park plus it’s expected two large new rides will be added to the Disneyland park I can see why not getting the full Star Wars land which is apparently have a $1b price tag alone.

Ah okay I didn't realise that. I presumed they were both the same. I'm sure they'll expand on the new areas after they've been opened a while.
 
Although expansion is much needed, it's a shame that none of what seems to be going into these areas is particularly bespoke or unique to Paris.

Effectively, it seems we're getting watered down versions of rides and areas being built in Asia and the USA.

The lake is very promising though - will add some real movement and zest to the park.
 
I’m not sure they’ve told us much more than we already knew. Basically there’s going to be a lake, some Frozen stuff and some Star Wars stuff. The lake is being oversold like nothing else, to the point it sounds like an E ticket in itself. And it’s going to take until the end of time before it opens.
 
It's not like its sent the park into bankruptcy or anything, but DLP putting ToT in that location is one of the most baffling decisions a park has ever made.

It just looks really out of place, with that huge blank back wall facing the whole back half of the park, including where this new lake is going to be. It's obviously a building that's not meant to be seen from behind, so why did they not put it at the edge of the park?

I could potentially see them doing a similar thing to what they did when they built the WDW version of Tower of Terror and put a different design on the back of the building so that it blends in with the lands behind it.
 
I think I remember reading somewhere that they were limited to where they located ToT by planning regulations and sight lines.

But the simple answer is the Studios park was never well designed. The main park next door is a masterclass in good design techniques. For example; DLP has the 2 side mainstreets meaning you can always find shelter from the rain. Studios answer is a big sound stage which bottlenecks people in and out of the park. Beyond that it's all wide exposed paths with no shelter at all.

Adding ToT and the Animation Studios to the park were nesery additions but there wasn't much thought put into them. Dare I say it's the same for this new expansion. All they've done is copied EPCOT's layout (the 2 original "arms of the park" becoming Future World and the lake as World Showcase. Then they've dropped a load of "budget" IP's in all from much bigger expansions happening elsewhere. It's what the park needs but not ideally what we want.
 
Today is the start of the Lion King and Jungle Festival at DLP.

The Lion King side of the festival coincides with the unveiling of the brand new ‘Frontierland Theatre’ which features the new 30 min show ‘Rhythm of the Pride Lands’

The old Cottonwood Creek area has been repurposed as a market area selling snacks and merchandise for the season.

The Jungle Book side of things is represented by the new Jungle Book Jive Parade and stage show in the hub which involves new floats, characters, dancers etc and looks great fun.

DLP has it’s faults but there is no denying they have seriously improved the entertainment at the park in recent years.

I would imagine DLP now have recycling containers around the park(s) so that they can be re-used. At least, I would hope that they are promoting such a fact.
