Would rather a Zootopia area than bloody boring Avatar.

We all have our own tastes and opinions but that might be the worst take of all time. Haha!

Zootopia + Frozen + Lion King would definitely be overkill. I think you need the 3rd IP aimed more towards teenagers/young adults to offset the other two personally. Whether that's a new Star Wars land, Avatar or something else I don't know.

Although it might be pushing 2040 before we see a third land added so they need to be confident in the longevity of the IP I guess.

Having been to Zootopia in Shanghai it's a very good themed world because there's a lot going on that makes it feel alive. Like an actual living city. Hot Pursuit is great also, although I havn't done many other trackless rides to compare it too.
The appeal of Avatar is that nothing like Flight of Passage exists at DLP.

What DLP seriously needs is a new ride with a ride system that is PROPERLY innovatve, or cutting edge. We see rides at Disney parks around the world that are much more cutting edge, yet DLP seem insistent on building nicely dressed classic flume rides. That isn't to say these rides are unwelcome, but come on. For the £100+ daily entry fee, do better.

Seriously though, they're kind of boring. Missing a key feature at the front I think such as a character sculpture. Just looks like the bare minimum a log flume needs to be.

Please. I have very clear memories of getting the Lion King on VHS in my Christmas Stocking the year it was released on home video. It cannot have been that long ago. Right?

I totally missed that. To be fair, it's absolutely tiny!

I mean, he was small I guess, but he was still a lion...

Let's just be glad they based it on the original animated version and not the "live-action" one.

Extremely fair point. Though on the timeline in which Disney normally operates, it does make some sense! Given that the vast majority of their "magic" nostalgia ("To all who come to this happy place... welcome!", When You Wish Upon A Star, things of this nature) is still based on characters and songs from movies from the 1940s and 1950s, produced by a man who died in the 1960s, a ride based on a movie from 1994 is.... well, somewhat modern in comparison

I might be wrong, but I think Disney fans generally put them into three categories:

Classic (Snow White, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty etc)

Renaissance (Little Mermaid, Aladdin)

Modern (Frozen, Moana)

My personal taste would be Classic for the main park, and Renaissance for Disney Adventure World, although I suppose each era has good and bad.

As for the main park, am I the only one who still wants Jungle Cruise?

I still don't see it working due to the language issues. You'd have to have separate boats for English narration and French narration but then you'd still end up with Spanish, Italian or German speakers where the jokes don't work so well. I've had some boats in Florida where there hasn't been so many laughs because many guests had Spanish as their first language and didn't get the jokes.

I'd much rather have a new modern ride with state of the art tech, maybe it could be a "Jungle Cruise" using the new motion-base boats like Shanghai pirates with modern animal animatronics or similar. But the corny joke skippers probably won't work in Europe.

Hmm, yes, fair point. I like the aesthetic of the ride so much, I tend to forget it has language-based humour.
