Always slightly difficult to take interesting photos of nothing happening, but the area surrounding Accelerator's lift hill has been cordoned off. The ride hasn't opened all day, but was initially listed as "Opening Soon".

Admittedly I it’s not now. But it was . And it’s a strange one to not have considering the season and being coveredBlasting Barrels isn't currently listed on the Christmas Page, with the ride opening times.

This is nothing new, no idea why people are acting shocked on the responses. They have done this since the ride opened.
Any maintenance work on the lift mechanicals means they need to corden the area underneath off, you wouldn't want a nut, bolt or engineers tool falling on to someone, even from that height.
I remember reading the risk assessments for this year's ago. It is a high potential risk. That is almost completely eliminated by having the area closed off.

Sadly there was no sign of technical services working on the ride, the cordon appeared halfway through the day. That doesn't mean that they weren't working out of sight though... Still no afternoon cycle / cycle 2 on Gold Rush.
Adding insult to injury, The Castle Bar was also closed all day. No beer for this goose.
The park was very busy, with each food outlet having long queues and lots of secondary spending (which was nice to see).
Queues and operations were as atrocious as always and lots of queue jumping and place holding, including in the Fast / Easy Pass lane.

I find there are certain individuals on this forum who are besotted with the shocked emoji, and will use it in response to… pretty much any postThis is nothing new, no idea why people are acting shocked on the responses.

I tend to stick to a “like” myself. I’m not one for the more elaborate emojis in general!I find there are certain individuals on this forum who are besotted with the shocked emoji, and will use it in response to… pretty much any post![]()

At Drayton Manor they do not call them technical services. Us Brummies / Tammies are not posh enough for this. Mechanic will do.

You are probably right, in the pub.

Is that why the pub is closed? They're having a lock in?
More than likely, at the Fazely Vic, a council estate pub at it's finest.

Bounty been unavailable since the beginning of the School holidays. It’s been waiting for a part. It will be April when they plan to get Gold Rush back on 2 trains and on 2 cycles.Amusingly, much better than their ride availability today.
Maelstrom, closed. Accelerator, closed. The Bounty, closed. Gold Rush, still without its second train.

The crappy extension for the function room, does out the back yes!
Not a true native flat roofed pub however, as found in other areas of Tamworth. I guess it cannot be classed as the finest of examples after all.

I believe that Alton Towers is the only park that refers to the people who fix the rides as Technical Services. They’re called Engineers at virtually every other UK park.At Drayton Manor they do not call them technical services. Us Brummies / Tammies are not posh enough for this. Mechanic will do.

Maybe I’m just more used to the southern parks but I think Engineer sounds much better. Technical Services sounds more like people who work in IT.
