Sunday - Pleasurewood Hills.
First impressions, nowhere near as run down as expected. Nice and “leafy”, some areas of fairly nice theming, bigger than I expected.
Coasters,
Marble Madness, standard mild mouse experience.
Cannonball express. Daughter was excited to ride this. Looked up the history while waiting in “the very slow” queue. 42 years old, began its life at Plopsaland. Poor thing looks and feels every bit of them 42 years. Still enjoyable though.
You have to take your bags on with you as you exit off a different platform.
Wipeout. I wasn’t sure about this one since I’m quite fragile these days but decided to give it a go as wasn’t feeling too bad on the day. I haven’t done anything big for 9 months. Well it lived up to its name and did almost wipe me out, nearly passed out after the loop. Very very intense. Too much, did not enjoy.
Looked it up afterwards, RCDB says 5.2Gs!
Egg-spress. Delightful. Fun music, cartoony chicken theming, fairly long layout, lifthill tunnel (which makes a great noise), felt surprisingly fast. First drop on the back row was actually decent for a kids ride. What more could you want? Best coaster in the park.
We also did
The log flume.
The chairlift which freaked us out a bit because it gets so close to the tops of the trees that it drags your legs through the branches and makes the chair bounce and rock.
The kiddie zamperla thing with the cages like Hero has.
The wave swinger
The shooting dark ride
Wave breaker (dinghy down a slide thing)
General thoughts. We had a pleasant day. It could just do with a decent family thrill (plenty of space for a little woody) and maybe one other family ride and it would be quite a decent family park.
Monday - Joyland
Joyland bought me no joy. I’m sorry I know it’s aimed at kids, but even if I’d had little ones with me, the place is an absolute rip off at 3 quid per ride. The tub ride pretty much finished me off for the day.

Did sealift then went home for an afternoon nap.
Tuesday - Pettits animal adventure
2 creds; a wacky worm (which the ride op had to physically push to get going) and another tiny kiddie coaster, Rocky Roller coaster.
Now we are not the target audience for this place but we had a lovely day. Really nice little park. If you have little kids, this place is a gem.
A good selection of rides for little kids. A little train ride. Animals. A really nicely themed dinosaur crazy golf. ( the crazy golf isn’t an up-charge, just grab a club and ball and go for it). The chicken show, a hilarious animatronic band with chickens, a fox, a frog and a farmer who burst into life every half hour to sing a few catchy little tunes. An amazing looking playground.
Theming packed in everywhere and just a general feel of a place which is well loved and well looked after.
A nice chill out day for me.
Had a paddle in the sea last night.
Today Pleasure Beach, really looking forward to the woodie.
