I personally haven't found it any worse than other rides at Towers. But the easy solution is just breath through your mouth, not your nose.
 
Last time I visited I noticed the smell and it made me feel sick but it's not the only ride to smell of sick

Went on Saw on the weekend and could smell the restraints on that, very pongy. Infact, come to think of it, I remember the ones in Oakwood on Speed also pong. Maybe its a Eurofighter thing....
 
Ride was down last Friday for about 15 minutes while they "clean up the reminents of someones dinner" in their own words.

I have noticed the smell ,its not pleasant but not enough to stop me going on it
 
Sounds like the staff need to learn how to make professional announcements... informing guests you're mopping up sick is hardly inviting. Unless their purpose is to drive people away.
 
I don't mind light-hearted announcements. They usually keep the queue in good spirits and often are said in a tone and style that fits with the 'Ministry of Joy' theme.

At least it is better than some announcements I have heard.
I like a light hearted fun announcements.
 
It's also far better them informing that the ride is down due to issues that they cannot control themselves.

Plus everyone knows people are sick on rides. It makes light heartedness out of it, and when it's done in a themed way it's all good!
 
Slightly separate subject but I was in Thorpe Park last weekend and it was boiling there - all I could think was, I was so glad I was not in the Smiler queue line. No wonder some people throw up given the sun beating down on them for hours on end waiting to get on the ride.
 
Rode for the first time yesterday and me and my entire group immediately noticed and mentioned the smell and heard numerous other guests complaining when first getting on. Its really quite bad, however you soon get over it and forget about it as you start going. I've never noticed the smell on any other eurofigher, its a combination of damp clothes and an overused towel, really quite nasty. How they could lessen it without turning off the effects would more than likely be challenging.
 
Having ridden it for the 15th-19th times on Sunday, I can say that it is the first time I've noticed the smell. Whether it's got much worse since I last rode it or whether this thread has made me think about it more, I have no idea.
 
I really don't know what they could do about it other than replacing the foam with something else, covering it up or just spraying it with something to cover the smell up.
