Efteling: General Discussion

Hi everyone,

Making my first trip to Efetling next week and have a few questions.
We are staying at the Wonder Hotel and have access to the pool at Bosrijik. The map shows these are at opposite ends of the resort, what is the best way to get from one to another, I plan on going for a swim after park close.

If you're arriving by car then you might be able to drive between the two hotels.

Otherwise you're kinda just gonna have to walk perimeter of the park if its closed. It is very poorly thought out.

Yes you can enter any hotel / theme park car park with your room card so you can drive down to Bosrijk and park in their carpark. :)

It’s going to be a long walk with a little one.
I note that the Efteling website says there’s a shuttle bus, but only from Bosrijk to the Park (presumably somewhere near the main gates?)
It’s a pity they don’t run a shuttle from the Wonder hotel to the facilities on the other side of the park.

We stayed at the Wonder Hotel last year. My wife walked to Badhuys (through the park) but I don’t think she really felt it was worth it.

I’m not sure whether you can walk down the road where the Wonder Hotel park entrance is to shorten the route slightly if walking around- best check at reception!

My suggestion if you’re determined would be to do it during park hours so you can cut across, which is still a fair old walk.

Otherwise you’ll have to walk the perimeter road which isn’t ideal with a young child and i imagine would take an hour each way. Bear in mind it will be dark too and i can’t imagine there’s much lighting so this could be hazardous.

As others have said worth asking if there are any transport options but I expect thats unlikely.

Sorry everyone, we've changed plans and have now hired a car, so will manage to drive between the hotels.

Can anyone advise if swim shorts are allowed in the pool? I know a few European countries insist on proper swimming 'trunks'.

Shorts are definitely fine at the Bosrijk pool (as of our visit August 2025) though showers are very much mandatory prior to entry.

From my knowledge, it is mainly the French speaking countries (France and Belgium) that have the strict speedo rule.

Centre Parcs have introduced the rule for it's continental European resorts it seems as well.

My wife added the tip that the lockers at the pool take €1 coins (she didn’t have a €1 coin so had to find a member of staff that helpfully lent her a plastic coin-sized disc for the locker.

She didn’t have a great time at the pool, but probably that was because she was expecting to be able to swim, like in a regular pool. This is a doughnut- type pool with fast flowing current in some areas (presumably why they insist on water wings), so great for playing with children but not great for swimming.

In a rather odd move, the park have placed a TV in the queue to advertise the on-ride photo options. Does seem to suggest you can access a video directly through the app so I’m curious how that works. QR code perhaps.

Most times we went on it there was nobody manning the shop meaning people were freely taking photos of their photos. Fortunately there was someone there for my sons first ever ride and we have the most wonderful print out of his joyous face… wish i could be that happy 😂😭

You've been able to access ride videos via the app for a while. They're basically just the on ride photo with some animations. Unless actual on ride videos has been introduced since my last visit.
