Europa Park for our 10th Wedding Anniversary

Hi everyone, I am planning on visiting Europa Park in 2025 for our 10th wedding anniversary, I'm in Norwich so was wondering if anyone on here would be able to offer any travel tips. We would like to fly there and back and get bus/shuttles/taxi from airport. We've never done Theme Parks outside of the UK so are new to this. What airport should we be looking at travelling from/to ? We would like to go September/October time and stay for 2 days on the park. Any tips would be massively appreciated. Thanks in advance. Shaun

From Norwich you are probably best off flying from Stansted.

Ryanair fly Stansted - Baden-Baden which is around 50 mins by road to Europa Park.

If you'd rather public transport to get to the resort, fly to Basel. You have to get a bus into the city for the train connection but it doesn't take long. Some of the trains from Basel go direct, although some require a change, usually at Freiburg, and there are worse places to spend an hour. There's a shuttle bus from Ringsheim to the waterpark, Rust and the hotels. You can get the ticket bundled with your train ticket, or usually you can just bunk on.

Congratulations on the anniversary!

Just to add, both Basel and Baden-Baden are good options. If you prefer public transport, Basel might be easier. Trains run regularly, and there’s a shuttle from Ringsheim to Rust.

I've always done Basel, because when I was first going to Europa Park that was the option that everyone said was the best option, and still think that rings true... Have known a lot of people now start to move towards going to Baden-Baden, not tried it myself but as everyone has said, I think they are both good options and looks like very similar times to get from the airport to the resort.

Car hire is definitely the easier option, if you get over that worry most have about driving abroad, but again, public transport is also pretty easy, although I find that a more daunting option since things like cancellations, delays are outside my control..

From either, the drive is simple, just long straight "A roads" (AKA Motorways), both about 50 mins / 1hr drive

Another thing I'd say is if possible, do more than 2 days... You can do it in 2 days for sure, however, that's if you rush around the place, and that, isn't really the best way to make the most of the park. Europa Park makes way more of an impression if you take it at a steady pace.

Congrats on your anniversary man! You'll have a great time... Sorry to hijack the thread but has anyone took a motorhome to Europa Park? Is there decent fully serviced pitches there? Are the roads ok for a large vehicle? I have a special TomTom but experienced advice is always better!

If you're from Norwich, as already mentioned above, it's best to go from Stansted. We went about 2 weeks ago and flew into Baden-Baden, which seems to be a more popular route in the last few years. It cost us £35 return with Ryanair and using public transport, from getting through immigration to Ringsheim took 90mins. Though that was a near perfect run. The trains are cheaper compared to Basel, airport is smaller (quicker), train stations are smaller (quicker, easier to navigate) and as the crow flies, Baden-Baden is closer. The public transport method is Bus from Baden Baden airport to Baden Baden train station (some get the bus to Buhl which is a bit further south on the same line, but not really worth it imo). Change at Offenburg to get on another train to Ringsheim. Then get Europa Park shuttle bus to Rust. It's really easy and both parts of the train journey are under 30mins each.

Europa Park is worth it, such a great resort and definitely in the running for best in the world. Be sure to try and get either a day at Rulantica or atleast an evening session if time is tight.
