Eurovision 2026

There is of course a lot of controversy and boycotts around the song contest this year, but the UK have just announced our entry.

I'm not much of a YouTube viewer so not familiar with Look Mum No Computer's work, but a known YouTuber, doing something a little different does seem like he could do alright for us if the song is good and can be consistently performed well live in the arena. We've struggled a bit with people who are great recorded, but not so much live.

The initial feedback from the Reddit thread in r/eurovision confirming our entrant is cautiously optimistic, and they seem glad that the BBC is taking a bit more of a risk this year.

The entries are being confirmed thick and fast. Australia have announced that their artist will be...Delta Goodrem. I'm absolutely thrilled at this. I've been a fan of Delta ever since she was on Neighbours 20-odd years ago, and her vocals are absolutely stunning. I have no doubts whatsoever that she will be superb in Vienna.

Goodness that's a name from the past. Pretty sure I had an album of hers back in the day... My musical tastes have changed a bit now! She was a good singer though.

I still have her first album, which was purchased solely because she was on Neighbours at the time. I was...eleven years old, I believe, and I also remember it being a purchase from Woolworths in St Ives. That was 22 years ago now...

Not long before Delta was announced as Australia's artist for 2026, Australia were 12th in the overall odds to win on Eurovisionworld. Having checked earlier, they're now sitting in third, with only Finland and Denmark ahead of them. Not too bad...

I've listened to Denmark's entry and its pretty good, a nice balance of soaring balled to slightly more electronic background.

Also of course we now have our entry, Eins Zwei Drei. Its good fun, maybe a little too repetitive, could have done with more of the beats in the foreground and a bit less vocals maybe. But I can hear Eins Zwei Drei and a slice of pepperoni being sung in the arena.
Doubt we will win, but could do top ten.

I think mid-table would be pretty realistic for the UK this year, and I agree that the crowd in the arena will be singing along to those bits.

Also of note is that this year's UK entry is the first time ever that any part of a UK entry has been in a language which isn't in English. Given this is our 68th participation in the Contest, that's quite an impressive run!

Indeed, and the German entry is being sung entirely in English!

If the fact our entry is being sung partially in another language (admittedly, it's just the title repeated several times, but still) winds up some portions of society (I think you all know what I'm inferring here), then I just consider that to be an added bonus. :p
