Fantasy Island - is there anything I need to know in 2026?

With me now starting a new job in the coming weeks and having thoroughly enjoyed my recent trip to Adventure Island and Thorpe Park, I’ve made the decision to book a rather spur-of-the-moment trip to the Midlands for next week, to visit Fantasy Island for the first time and tick off the last “notable” UK park I haven’t been to that has notable coasters for me to ride. I’ll be staying in Nottingham for 2 nights, travelling up from the local station on Wednesday 22nd April, going from Nottingham to Skegness to do Fantasy Island on Thursday 23rd April and then going from Nottingham to Uttoxeter to do a nice Merlin pass trip to Alton Towers on Friday 24th April before returning home.

With Fantasy Island being a new park to me, I would be intrigued to know; is there anything important I should know before visiting the park in 2026, or on the day I’m visiting? Aside from the obvious draws of Odyssey and Millennium, is there anything else I absolutely shouldn’t miss attractions-wise?

I’ll admit having booked that I do have mild trepidation about the weather forecast for the 23rd. Gusts presently seem to be forecast at between 20mph and 24mph. I would not be vaguely concerned about this in any other park, but I’m all too aware of how temperamental Odyssey apparently is…

Any advice is much appreciated! I’ll certainly be interested to see my last semi-major UK park and ride Odyssey and Millennium for the first time…

Hello Matt, the rides that most spring to mind are the three dark rides:

Toucan Tours - mysterious, monorail dark ride
Seaquarium - indoor boat ride
Harrington Flint's Island Adventures - trackless, interactive dark ride

Also, there's a water slide in the pyramid called Mystical Dragon Mountain. It used to be very wet, apparently, but as I understand it they've taken out the worst turn.

Yes Matt you decided to do it!

As you may be aware, aside from the Pyramid, it is pretty much a fun fair with a market round it.

Notable rides to do aside from the obvious 2 are Volcano, Rhombus, Log Flume if you fancy it (isnt normally a soaker). Rest are just standard fun fair rides mainly. Most of the rides in the Pyramid are worth it.

One advantage over the Merlin Parks it has is that there is various food options (fish and chips!).

If you have time to, it might be worth checking out Bottons Pleasure Beach in Skegness, 4 creds there! Only down the road

Fantasy Island is a mixed bag, the Pyramid is one of the UK's most immersive area's, whereas the outside while has some theming is limited and is more transportable rides. Notable Rides: Odyssey, Millennium, Rhombus Express, Snow Drift, Time Machine, Volcano, Wild River Rapids, Magical Seaquarium, Toucan Tours, Mystical Dragon Mountain, Log Flume and The Guardian. Be aware if you want to ride all the coasters Jellikins Roller Coaster will be not accessible if you are over 1.6m.

In terms of food plenty of options around so pick your fancy for me Lost Island Grill is now my personal favourite though you do have a nice Italian restaurant in there to.

Would highly recommend getting a wrist band over using Pay per Ride they have.

If you have the time Botton's Pleasure Beach is also worth a visit as well as Butlins which is nearby

Wherever you park your car, leave nothing on show, and triple check the locks.

Avoid making eye contact with the locals.
Do not engage with any of the merchants. Purchase nothing.
Do not be alone unless you're using the loo.
Do not eat the local food.
Do not drink the local water, sealed bottles of sterile booze only (clean the top of the bottle with an alcohol wipe).
Make sure all vaccinations are up to date before travel.
Check in with a family member every hour to confirm you are still alive. Agree on code words to use if under duress.

Yeah this is a load of nonsense, been to Fantasy Island plenty of times on my own. And While you do have to keep your wits about you the same could be said for many other places. I have been some far shadier looking places then ingoldmells
