Finding The Origins of The Old Katanga Canyon Music.

I'm aware there's already a thread for park music but for reasons my own I wish to keep this isolated.

I have been having a difficult time finding any information on this track. I know there a excerpts from it on the ATMOS71 CD (The Adventure Begins, Over The Moon) but I wanted to go back further and see if I could track down a better copy of the full version. I know it's by Mark Russell and from his Cool Music account (http://coolmusicltd.com/composers/mark-russell/)I know that back in the 90s he did scores for a handful of BBC Radio film series (Batman, Superman, Spiderman and Independence Day). I noticed a subtle link to at least one these series (Superman) on the Universal Productions page for ATMOS71 (https://www.universalproductionmusic.com/en-gb/discover/albums/67/action-heroes). On the final song of the first section (The Final Victory) it references Superman in the songs description. I have 100% placed a few of the songs from ATMOS71 in both Superman BBC Radio series that Mark was involved with. The song I'm looking for appears to be absent. A user on here mentions it was released in 1988. Could this be a mistake? I must say it is rather illusive for a song everyone seems to have heard but nobody knows where (maybe not now, but in the late 90's, early 2000s when I first heard it).

I didn't make my self clear enough obviously. I said a BETTER copy of the full one. This is the old mono one that has been circulating for a long time and I don't consider it to be good quality. We do not know where it originated and we do not know if there's an actual release of this full version in high quality.

Apologies sorry. Unfortunately this the best we have on the Internet I'm afraid.

This is my favourite track in the park. Are you saying you've placed the rest of the set in the BBC radio series but not the 2 that make up this track?

Hello, I am looking to find out what area music was used in Katanga Canyon from opening until 2008? I know the Runaway Mine Train theme was used, wad their any others used? If so can anyone provide a link to listen?

Many thanks,
Sam

I presume you're looking for the royalty free piece used in the area?

There have been bits and bobs written about it on here over the past few years, it might be worth running a search for "Katanga Canyon" and see what you can find.

Edit: Decided to hunt for you, have to do something whilst waiting for a train in the rain. I believe you want "The Adventure Begins".
The tracks used are both from a production music album released in 1995 by Mark Russell. The main theme is called "The Adventure Begins" - also the track "Over the Moon" was used at the time too. You can find the album here. :)

Hello, thank you for your reply. I know back in the 90s the RMT theme was used. I have in my head there was a theme that has adventures speaking in the theme song. This is the one I am after. The adventure begins is a more recent track, 2010s?

Many thanks
S

The track The Adventure Begins is the only thing I've ever associated with Katanga Canyon.

This is it. It’s on a generic universal music cd, but I think the Alton one is slightly more extended than the adventure begins track (as I bought the CD) but I’ve never found the rest of it

Hello, I am also looking for this track.

I have been told “The Adventure Begins” was the only track used but I can remember other music from the Katanga Canyon area. The other track I am thinking of had adventurers speaking in it and that’s what I’m looking for. Do you have any info on any other theme music played here in the 90s?

Cheers,
S

Thank you for looking for me. Do you know of any other tracks that were used or any with words?
