Five/Ten/Fifteen year plan if you owned Alton?

ok, let's do this. Wish I could visit as much as you lot and have a greater understanding of how the park operates. I shall give this topic ago. Please excuse the grammar.

1, Adult only bar.

Specifically built away from the hotel. For those of us without kids. I don't need family friendly entertainment whilst I'm having a pint. Theme the bar around past AT. Photos of construction and old ride. "Wardley's breakrun." To quote Alan partridge "it should well policed. It should not, repeat not turn into an all night rave"

2, improve towersstreet™. Decent places to have something to eat. Little coffee bar, nice little bar and decent restaurant. Improve towers trading and move the box office to outside the main gate.

3,Hotels,

Let's look at overall quality. Rather than massive changes. Make them worth the money and improve cleanliness. Look at reducing prices for the pods. Improve eating options and

4, the car park.

Lower parking charges. Have a pre booking service that will offer lower prices.

5, monorail.

Lick of paint for the stations and improve the look of the rolling stock. Create a retro feeling. Remove the god awful livery. Get some visibility into the park.

6. Rides. I'm not touching this subject. Priority is a dark ride. New roller coaster and improve galactica theming.

That's it for now.

I think the park should carefully curate their new attractions to offer each land a more well rounded experience.

FV: with ocean opening it’ll be stacked with 5 rides, so that area can stay the same

X- sector: needs a thrilling flat but also a more family friendly ‘beginner’ flat. Therefore, while some family members take on the coasters in the area, the younger ones also have something to do nearby.

Dark Forest: needs a family friendly flat again. That way, they’ll have a tame flat, a relatively tame coaster with 13, and then an intense coaster with Rita.

Mutiny: works the best already with offering guests a well-rounded line up: heavo Ho or whatever it’s called and shark bait/battle galleons appeal to young guests. Then marauders appeals to a slightly older demographic and wicker provides the thrills.

Katanga: it’s not a very big area so I think it’s fine as it is in terms of its ride offering. Although Congo definitely needs a reimagining of some sort. They could further expand on special effects and a more ‘mining’ theme, maybe even add those buckets of water that are triggered to pour onto guests.
- Obviously, they would probably have to change the ride system, perhaps higher capacity boats with lap bar restraints, to avoid any safety concerns with guests standing up. Might reduce capacity but the ride already has great capacity so I dont think reducing it through this would Impact the queues too much.

Gloomy wood:
- would retheme it into a more Victorian esque theme. Doesn’t make much sense on paper to have two haunted forest areas.
- could alter haunted hollow to be an abandoned Victorian street, with nice lighting and effects.
- add another family ride in the available space.

Walliams/Towers
- I’d assume walliam’s will be on the chopping board soon anyways. So with horizon, the dungeons area, and possible flat’s re-theme, it could be a nice well-rounded area with rides for every demographic.

I’d love to see this area be a space themed area, galactica is so half baked that if that’s re-themed they could fully realise the idea much better
- the dungeons would be great as a space/planet exploration themed ride. Extend the boat aspect a bit, then it can be a relatively ‘dry’ ride, with a specific water planet section where guests can be sprayed with water. That way they now have another proper water ride

Also in terms of general park experience:

- Two entrances (like chessington) - might upset the thoosies who go to FV first thing when the queues are short but this will definitely help the spread of crowds. Also, saves the absolute pain that is walking to the entrance from the rear end of the car park. Especially with the monorail either being unavailable, on reduced capacity, or with a 30+ min queue, this would definitely help. For instance, why should disabled guests have to wait up to half an hour just to get a monorail to the entrance, when it’s usually their only choice?

Once SkyRide is open again this would also drastically help with overall guest satisfaction

With the impending universal park opening, they should try their best to bring back competitive perks, including early ride time! Those days were great. Although nowadays most rides aren’t even open until way after 10 which is disappointing from a guest standpoint. Less rides open for 10 = the open ones getting gargantuan queues = annoyed guests

Apologies if this has already been discussed but, what happened to Alton Towers' actual long term development plan that was being discussed around a decade ago?
