The current delay with The Lost River Ride is that water is splashing over into animal enclosures, causing contamination.

Apparently they need to add height to the glass to prevent this before testing can continue...

I'd be really interested to know much this project has cost. The Lost River Ride would be pretty near the bottom of my "Areas and Attractions at Flamingo Land that Desperately Need Attention" list.

Was that not an issue in the old version? Probably more so if anything given that the drop was bigger?

It may be because they've moved the seals and sea lions into this area. I guess that the heavily chlorinated water from the ride could contaminate their pools.

A hugely puzzling project by a hugely puzzling park.

Let's give our water ride a shorter drop and add an ugly shed on top of the lift hill that's going to reduce throughput.

A monumental waste of money.

Mean the throughput on it wasnt great considering the stops.

Adding a simulator section is utterly baffling.

Add to that it's hard to imagine what simulation it will show; guaranteed a lion attack or something utterly meh.

Sometimes these execs have crazy ideas and need somebody with a bit of common sense to say 'Don't do it. A Massive waste of time and money'.

Should be spending any money they have beefing up their ride line up rather than making 'enhancements' to a ride that didn't really need it.

Could be worse, you might have M&D's where it's the only thing in the country. At least FL has actually attractions.

I live 1 hour north of FL. It has been my home park for over 40 years.

Yes there better theme parks for sure, many of them in fact put FL to shame in terms of theming, rides etc. but I've had great times there.

My kids now love Theme Parks and that enjoyment stemmed from having access to Kumali, Velocity, Dinoroller, Zooooom etc..

My view on the place would likely be different if I grew up down south, but for many people up north it's a great day out.

In terms of the Lost River, the sheds look out of place for sure but I think some have underestimated how much effort has been put in to reshape the area within. The sea lion and Lion enclosures look great with a good standard of theming.
