Day to day, I’m sure most of us try and spell correctly or read things correctly. But sometimes, we all make funny slip ups when spelling or reading things and get the wrong end of the stick completely. With this in mind, I’d be keen to know; what have been some of your funniest misreadings, typos, autocorrect fails or anything of that ilk? There used to be a similar thread in the old Tavern, but I think that might have been lost to the recent culling of Tavern threads.
I’ll get the ball rolling with my reason for starting this thread.
My reason for starting this particular thread is because I was today reading LinkedIn, when I came across a post talking about a Cardiff University academic who was being celebrated for their research in “Bulls**t” history (as I read it). I thought to myself “Wow, that’s unusually on the nose as a field of research… even if the person thought that about their field of research, surely they wouldn’t usually say it?”… before I realised that the academic was in fact being celebrated for their research into Buddhist history, which made far more sense!
