If only Merlin did what walabi Holland did with speed of sound and added on train audio and effects instead of VR.....

I must be the only one on here that preferred Galatica with VR as oppose to Air without VR.

The ride has now been themed to Galactica with the port hole which is cool, so just make sense to leave the current themeing and name.

That would be cool, although it would make the trains even heavier and more complex lol.

Nothing compared to the complexity having speakers around the track syncing with the train..

They can't even get the portal in sync with the train!

Funnily enough, this was almost my exact experience with VR on Galactica!

Yeah, the VR was great when it worked.

The best thing that happens with air turning into galactica is the soundtrack

Completely agree, that's IMAscore for you! I love the soundtrack so much I've got it as my phone ringtone, funny how I like the soundtrack more than the actual ride. :p

I'd say Galactica is better than Air, simply as it has a theme. VR was also better as it made it a bit more fun, but was too much of an operations sacrifice.

The VR was worse for me because I wear glasses but not on the big rides. Getting off most rides that send you upside down leaves me a little discombobulated anyway and not being able to see clearly makes this worse. I swear sometimes I get off rides I'm weaving all over the place.

When you've had a VR strapped to your face - and I found this uncomfortable - and having special effects blasted into your eyeball....it made everything much worse.

I am sometimes amazed I don't fall down any stairs.

The best bits of the VR for me were the bits coming out of the station, and lining up with the portal, and then the start of the drop where you float over the earth. Apart from that, the rest was a bit meh especially seeing the black outline of the landscapes in the headsets. Always said it but wish they had spent the money on adding theming to the area (waterfalls, lakes etc) rather than spending it on the VR.

Ever wondered what it would be like to ride Galactica backwards? :p

Never noticed that blue patch of track at 06:02, wonder whether they were testing out a new paintjob when it got changed to Galactica.

Had a look on Spotify there but couldn't find it - do you know what the track is called by any chance?
