Galactica: General Discussion

(I've heard that the trains on Nemesis Reborn are actually the original trains from the original Nemesis ride, and so the trains presumably last longer than the track?)
"Part of the old carriages have been recycled and used in the new ones that will carry passengers."

Galactica has been running 2 trains at least a few weeks ago, when I when it was 2 trains single station.

although I do wonder about its future, its sign, that got destroyed a few years ago and replaced by a 2d vynl is still a 2d vynl, however it has had some new screens (although they probably wouldn't be that hard to move to another location)

Naturally they've only jet washed the areas that guests see. 🤦‍♂️
One good thing about Galactica is that at least riders face away from the track and so probably won't see much of the dirt when they are on-board!

Conspiracy theory: I wonder if the VR headsets were added so that riders wouldn't be able to see any of the dirt around the ride?

I also wonder if part of the reason why the ride was never cleaned because they were planning on repainting it anyway (which would have covered up much of the grime)

No, it was so that they could market an old ride as a new one.
To paraphrase the words of the mighty Howling Wolf...

Think twice, type once sometimes.
For what it's worth: John Wardley said that one benefit of the VR headsets is that they could be used to add more theming to the ride, which he was unable to do in 2002 as he had run out of money due to the project going over-budget - hence why the pre-lift hill section is a plain concrete tunnel, with the occasional chewing gum on the floor for riders to observe

I would therefore not be surprised at all if part of the motivation for adding the VR headsets was to cover up some of the defects that would accrue throughout the season* (although it obviously wasn't the main reason)

(*In 2024, I remember being stuck on the brake run for a long time, whilst staring at a pile of vomit on the floor from a previous rider - which the VR headsets would have prevented)
