Is Alton Towers too cheap?

Would you be happier if they were more expensive?

This has to be the first time i see people complaining of something being underprice... disgusting.

Nonsense as well complaining of them being underprice but complaining of food being overpriced? Well one covers for the other, except you are not forced to purchase food.

This is a fair point but it has effectively been a price reduction because inflation has gone up while the ticket price has stayed the sane. Now this is good for us, especially as the product has downgraded but the original question of this post is whether if the [park experience was improved a higher park ticket would make sense, which if that's the case would imply towers is too cheap.
The food however has gone exactly the opposite with it quality getting worse.

I would be happier if they were more expensive, yes.
And I have complained about it, on here, for quite a while now...I have heard no disgust in the past for that opinion.
I have past experience of the Towers without masses of people around me with cheap passes.
I remember the days of very short queues or walk ons, all day, in good weather, off peak.
Very rare these days sadly,
What is disgusting about having a different opinion?
This is what the forum is here for, to share and discuss our opinions.
The park is underpriced, it gets too many punters, who then clog up the queuelines, far more than in the past, reducing the quality of experience.
And to clear a simple matter up, we are all forced to buy food, it is not optional, and the Towers know that...we have to eat to live.
Rollercoaster rides however, are completely optional, we do not require them for existence, whatever some thoosies think.

Tbf most people can survive weeks without eating so can probably get through 6 hours at a theme park, all AT are tapping into is lack of willpower for junk food or lack of preparation.

On the other hand I suppose one could argue the cheap passes create much longer queues which in turn require larger energy reserves, those crafty devils.

Would you be happier if they were more expensive?

People would be happier if the experience was better, be that shorter queues, more reliable rides or more overall investment, which is generally facilitated by the parks being more expensive.

In the case of Alton Towers, the food being overpriced doesn't cover or minimise the entry free.

Alton Towers do not make any additional revenue, in secondary spending, from food and beverage outlets. They rent the units to a third party, who set their own prices and collect their own profits. This is not shared with the park.

The problem with undervaluing a product is that it often leads to a decline in quality, and an inability to further invest in its future.

I am all for getting an occasional bargain, as we all are, but I am not comfortable with a prolonged steal at the expense of an attraction I desperately want to see improve.

Yes

I want the quality to increase though inline with an increase but at the moment, for somewhere that could and should be premier park for the UK, inline with equivalent countries. It’s way off.

The hotels however are currently vastly overpriced for their offering, and the quality is awful. They just need to improve plain and simple.

Rooms, F&B, entertainment/facilties and common areas are nowhere near the likes of a center parcs or modern butlins, despite being double or triple the price per night.
