The thing is though, outside of Halloween events, shows at Merlin parks were scarcely watched and invariably not great quality (despite the best efforts of the actors involved) due to poor direction, storylines, or audio quality

The Pirate Show is admittedly an unfortunate victim of the overall mediocrity of the offerings that failed to gather any crowds
 
During my time on the ents team, I was employed and trained in-house, however, some specialist performers would occasionally be brought in on a contractor basis. Show/roaming/presenting staff were exclusively the Wizard. I've worked for 2 other well-known attractions/ents companies & the structure was much the same... And ents were always equally undervalued! That was a long time ago now though.
 
Currently at legoland for opening day of the season.

- Lots of staggered openings for rides, some 1130, some 12 and the 4D cinema not open till 130! Best of all Scarab bouncers opens at 3pm 😂
- Sky Rider completely removed and area reopened though the station remains for full Walking Dead VIBES
- Haunted House reopened but all the lights were kept on which somewhat spoilt it. Not sure if that was deliberate.
- Handful of unadvertised ride closures for the day. Pretty much every ride has been down at points too. Sky lion on 4 of 7 gondolas.
- Did Submarine ride for first time in years. Saw lots of sharks but still seems very small and brief.
 
The train at Lego is getting the biggest makeovers ever seen. Looks like there's 20 new scenes coming :)

Did Legoland again today, was positively heaving compared to last Saturday!

- Haunted House lights were back to normal so evidently a mistake last week.
- Speedway was testing but didn’t open which was a cruel tease, though wasn’t advertised to open in fairness.
- Rides all opened at normal time.
- There was a show in the miniland area. Also heard people saying they were waiting for the pirate show but wasn’t in a position to let them down.
 
Just seen some TikTok’s and apparently Legoland have refilled Viking river splash with water in the last few days. Odd as it’s can’t just be rain water but I can’t see it returning are Merlin changing their mind as they can’t afford to remove it ?

Why can’t it just be rain water? The ride’s been SBNO for well over a year now, and it’s massive - will have an absolutely huge catchment area for rain
