Merlin Holiday Club, what a shambles

I am a sad sad individual, with nothing else better to do but check AT hotel prices, and get ate up with how this new fangled holiday club is just designed to rip us poor old pass holders off.

These were the prices available from the holiday club as of 26 January 2017
All based on 1 person 1 night

as long as the original price was 35% Higher than Jans sale prices for at least 28 days (I think) before the Jan sale started. I am not sure it matters what price they charge after the sale has ended. While it doesn't look good and confusing for customers I don't think it's against the sales of goods act.

It's happens a lot across the whole airline and hotel/holiday business.
 
A question like this was on last night's Martin Lewis show.

The question was along these lines

Q. What rights do you have if you pay for a Hotel (or any product) and then the price goes down a few days later.

A. Absolutely nothing, you are not entitle to be refund the difference. However if you were told that the price would not be reduced and then they reduce it, then you are probable entitled to query it and may be entitle the difference, which I believe is the case in the original post above.
 
I have lost all hope of trying to understand how Merlin price their hotels,.

however if you want a cheep (ish) night in an enchanted lodge.. those are the dates to book :)
 
I also have no idea how they price the hotels.

I'm pretty sure the prices were put up 30% when they had the 30% off sale, as they seemed really expensive compared to previous years.

And now we have this 25% off deal.

I can't even seem to find how to get the MAP discount anymore on the website for hotels.

It makes it more confusing as well, as they currently have different deals with water park tickets, etc.
 
Thing is those two little words are very important..... "Sale! UP TO 30% off"

It could be just 1% off the full price and they are breaking no laws.
 
Im looking for an overnight stay in June,
comparing the prices between B&B and the up to 25% discount from Holiday Club

ATH is the same price @£150.50

EV is 20% cheeper on Holiday Club £210 compared with £168

Splash is £7 more expensive via the Club, £105 or £112 if booked via the amazing club discounts

According to the Merlin website, it's Up to 20% Off Alton Towers Accommodation, so I take it in their eyes, that they can also charge us MAP holders more than non MAP holder :eek: :rolleyes: :confused:

So, the up to 30% sale has finished and now its an "up to 25% off" sale. Yet, looking at the prices, they have gone down a lot more in this sale than the first one. Makes me think they haven't sold many rooms.
 
I'm waiting till all this sale nonsense ends and I can just get my 20% discount and know thats what Im getting. I hate the not knowing. why do they just not tell us !
