You could have subtle sponsorship for a reduced cost of replacement. If we say Alston, a builders plate inside each carriage, use of it for demonstration and product photography would do. Bit more costly than free with sponsorship but less ugly.
Sponsorship only really works when the sponsor gets a return on their investment. Afterall, sponsorship is just a form of advertisement. I cannot imagine many people who heading to Alton Towers being in the market for a mass transit system. Thus, a sponsorship of that type would be unlikely.

In this case, it doesn't really require many people to be in the market... it just requires one or two of the right people being in the right place at the right time.Sponsorship only really works when the sponsor gets a return on their investment. A valid point. But it is worth remembering that Alton Towers' audience is mainly a consumer market.
The same as a TV. This is why you do not see advertisements for ship propulsion technologies, oil rig pipeline technologies and mass transit system integrators on TV adverts. The arguments could be put forward that advertising such things on national TV, would have a much, much higher chance of finding that one or two persons and probably even more. But still, they do not do it, as TV advertisements, like Alton Towers are for consumer audiences.

It definitely needs something doing with it. I personally wouldn’t want to see the park without it. It’s kind of iconic and builds a lot of excitement as you get glimpses of Galactica and Nemesis.
I also wouldn’t want to enter or exit the park via Forbidden Valley as walking down Towers Street is another nostalgic experience and having a view of the Towers, again builds the excitement.
Do I remember correctly that it wasn’t even built for AT, was imported, and it was serendipitously a good fit for the layout of the park?

It was from the 1986 Expo in Canada. I'm not 100% sure, but I think the length of the track is less than the Expo, so they used pieces to fit what was required at Alton Towers.
Nothing will likely happen this closed season. I really hope with more investments being pumped into the parks we see something happen to the Monorail in the future.

Still a big fat zero for bringing the main entrance transport system up to scratch, running at about twenty percent of the original capacity.
As in post No. 2, by the dearly missed Diogo, with 25 people in agreement with him, and repeated by Rob above...remove the bloody window stickers, at a cost below a grand.

Here is a question, sorry to off topic, but what ever did happen to Diogo? Hope everything is OK. I did message him but radio silence.
I am hopefully optimistic about a refurb under this new sort of Merlin. But in reality I doubt it will amount to much.
