Imagine a Paultons take on Rookburgh.
You can do Space without doing futuristic.A futuristic space theme would run in to the very well documented ‘Tomorrowland Problem’ in that what appears modern or futuristic now will appear dated in only a few years.
I do like the enchanted/magical forest idea. I love Toverlands Magic Valley as well as the soundtrack, the music is goes really well with the theme. They could create magical creatures to replace the critter creak ones.3 areas I'd love to see executed really well in the UK are:
- Enchanted/Magical Forest
- Steampunk
- Mexican inspired (RIP Mexicana)
Paultons could easily pull off all 3 but Enchanted Forest would be particularly complimentary to their natural environment and an opportunity to create their own mythical lore (like Hex at Towers). Mexico at Phantasialand is one of my favourite areas of a park ever, it's so vibrant, alive with movement, sound and smell - plus everyone loves Mexican food! The artistic style of Paultons theming suits a theme like this well - would be chuffed to bits if Paultons ever decided to go with a bit of Mexicana![]()
I was thinking this too, they did say during last year's Super Fans event that they weren't happy with Critter Creek.I do like the enchanted/magical forest idea. Critter creek will probably be scrapped in the not too distant future it's a bit of a nothing area and would be better being part of the redevelopment area near teacups.I was thinking this too, they did say during last year's Super Fans event that they weren't happy with Critter Creek.
See EuroMirYou can do Space without doing futuristic.

I’m not convinced. It’s probably possible but it’s a much harder one to pull off and can start to look dated much quicker. I think that’s why DLP had the right idea with giving Space Mountain the theme they did, I’m sure that Paultons could pull off steampunk pretty well. You can do Space without doing futuristic.
Yes, they should keep clear of a futuristic theme, but not a space one.I’m not convinced. It’s probably possible but it’s a much harder one to pull off and can start to look dated much quicker. But space themes, I don’t know, I think that the likes of Euromir and the Tomorrowlands (even the newer ones) look pretty dated.
Tron is nearly 10 years old now (Shanghai version) and actually still looks pretty good, but Paultons don’t have Disney budgets or an imagineering team their size. I don’t know, I just think space and futuristic are themes that are much harder to get right. I’d say it’s something that Paultons should steer clear of.
You’ve seen the Mars coaster at Energylandia right?Paultons could go down the "childish" vision of space rockets with three tail-fins, green aliens from Mars and similar.
I have now, that looks a pretty cool well themed kiddie coasterYou’ve seen the Mars coaster at Energylandia right?![]()
Coaster Cam on CoasterForce visited Paultons Park on Saturday, and interestingly, he found that footer construction within the Cobra ride area has begun, inferring the potential for interaction between the two: https://coasterforce.com/forums/threads/new-attractions-at-paultons-park.45593/page-23#post-1184648
A ride intertwining with Cobra could be interesting, in my view!
I don’t know if I’m reaching a bit here, but that to me might also imply that this coaster is more likely to be custom rather than a clone/stock layout like Paultons’ previous coaster additions. That to me is really exciting; I’d be intrigued to see what Paultons does with a proper custom coaster!
For me currently, Paultons Park has an excellent supporting coaster lineup, but lacks a real exciting custom headliner. For clarity, I’m not even talking about a massive thrill ride, as I know Paultons isn’t a hardcore thrill park and likely never will be. I’m talking about a really ambitious, custom coaster that’s a step above their other rides. If this 2026 addition gives them that headliner, then I think it could put them in a very strong position and definitely elevate them up a peg for me!
