Paultons Park: General Discussion

We know from the memo that was sent out to staff a few weeks back that the project will be in two phases, with a new coaster and "UK first" second ride around Cobra's site for 2026 followed by a new attraction on the Go Karts site for 2027 (See @James Watkins' post below). I do think a water coaster is likely, and it will be the go karts area project if so. I wouldn't be surprised if they don't announce the go-karts replacement at tomorrow's event, and keep that announcement for next year's event on the opening day of the first phase of Vikings.
From that post, it was a discord message on an enthusiast server rather than a official staff memo.

I'd still say this is speculation until we know about 36 hours later.

Before we get the announcement tomorrow, I’d like to put in a secondary prediction (if those are allowed): alongside my pre-existing prediction of an Intamin Hot Racer as the main coaster for 2026, I predict that the alleged “UK’s first” secondary ride will be a Zamperla Big WaveZ!

I predict this because I think it would fit quite nicely in to the Raging River plot, would explain why the basin from that ride was recently repainted, and would fill the water ride void left by Raging River somewhat until a larger water ride comes along (potentially in 2027, as rumoured).

Paultons also have a strong pre-existing relationship with Zamperla when it comes to flat rides, with both Cyclonator and The Edge having been supplied by Zamperla, and it would fit the bill of a “UK’s first” ride, so I think it would work quite well!

There seems to be some speculation about a 2027 investment which is rumoured to be a water coaster.
A fair bit of it has come from your fine self, sir.
Speaking of the future of the park, I speculated Raging River will be moved on from the park eventually either in preparation for or after a new larger replacement log flume opens.
I personally think a water ride will be part of the development however whether that's a flume, rapids or shoot the chute is a different matter.
1 Replacement Family Thrill Water Ride
a modern flume, rapids, shoot the chute or water coaster seems to be a logical addition.
I see something on a larger scale like Viking Voyage, Biberburg or Chiapas being added to complement Splash.

There is definitely room for a large scale water ride at the park and I'm imagining that's what we may see sooner than later.
I'm quite sure we may see a larger water ride come around as part of Vikings and it could very well be a Super Flume. 🤔
I do think that what would've been most ideal was to keep it running until the future Super Flume is open.

I am on the record as hoping that the park have purchased G-Force.

My prediction is that they've purchased a Maurer Spike Coaster, or an X-Car.
As much as I want that I am not sure if G Force has been scrapped not sure how much of a loss G Force was though I would much rather Paultons purchase Apocalypse or Pandemonium

Yours for just €695,000

On a note unrelated to the new ride, I myself have now booked myself a nice jolly to Paultons Park on Thursday 5th June. I’m looking forward to it; I can’t wait to check out Ghostly Manor!

My main reason for posting this, though, is that due to this year likely being somewhat… thinner on the ground for me in terms of new creds than the last couple, I’m pondering whether I should rip the band aid off and ride Paultons’ two smallest Zierer coasters for the +2. As a general rule, I don’t usually ride kiddie coasters, but with this year likely to be somewhat lower for me in terms of new creds than the last couple, I figure I should take whatever I can get, within reason!

With this in mind, what I was curious to know is; are either of Dino Chase or Farmyard Flyer an excessively embarrassing ride for the more self-conscious among us? I already have Cat-O-Pillar from my previous visit in 2021, and I remember that being a perfectly unembarrassing ride, but I was wondering whether the smaller Zierers might be a bit less suitable for a solo adult. This was largely why I didn’t do Dino Chase in 2021, and is also why I didn’t do the Windmill Towers in Tornado Springs or any ride in Peppa Pig World.

With that said, I did wonder whether Paultons’ two smallest Zierers being a bit more inobtrusively themed and integrated within more “adult” themed areas might make them a slightly less embarrassing ride than, say, Octonauts or Troublesome Trucks. I don’t know why, but an inobtrusive theme and integration within a more “adult” themed area mentally makes a kiddie coaster seem slightly less embarrassing for me than if it had a “kiddie” theme in a kids’ area!

What are people’s thoughts?

I rode both Dino Chase and Farmyard Flyer alone last year, and did not feel awkward on either of them! DC was because it was walk-on with no queue, and FF was because the theming is so, so good. If I can ride them, Matt, You can too!

I've ridden both with my best friend who's also in her twenties, and we didn't get any odd looks! I like the dinosaur on dino chase but it was uncomfortable physically for some reason, even though it was very slow XD. I love farmyard flyer and went on it loads of times, no one bats an eyelash. If you only ride one i'd definitely recommend farmyard flyer

Well, it is a bit of fun to guess although I'm also very keen on the idea of a water ride coming to a UK park.

At the same time, I am an enthusiast and don't state my guesses to be true. I am someone who's not affiliated with the park either.

I am sceptical about that particular discord post being actually true however we are pretty much going to know tomorrow so whatever we're saying won't matter for much longer.

Honestly, I would say go for it and enjoy yourself

Either Farmyard Flyer or Dino Chase would fit a solo adult without any issue.

It's not as restrictive as some of the other junior coasters of the same manufacturer (Rabalder at Liseberg).

Back row. Arms up the whole way. Own it.

Just think, if you’d have rode them in 2021 you’d have had many 5 minutes of uncomfortable thoughts but the satisfaction of having the +2, as well as peace of mind for the rest of your life! Get them done and have a fantastic day.

I'm probably going to go in a different direction to the discord post (which may be incorrect) and predict the following.

Intamin Flume
Mack Seastorm
Mack Twist N Splash

All 3 for 2026 along with my prediction of the new Intamin LSM Family Thrill Launch Coaster I made. 🙂

Sorry to be awkward but I'm inclining the plans will move in a slightly different angle.

Perhaps in the interest of fairness as the general consensus seems to be there will be 1 coaster and 1 flat announced for 2026, you can pick one of the Mack options and i'll note your Intamin Flume under 2027 along with a note of your 4 ride prediction?
