I've been working on a full park in Planet Coaster 2, like those I used to share back in the RCT3 days. I really struggled making parks in PC1, as I'd easily spend months working on just one ride. But in PC2 I'm finding it a lot easier.
The park isn't quite ready to share yet, but I was having so much fun with one of the rides I really wanted to show what I have so far (and get some feedback).
It's called the Snail Trail, and for those of you that have been to Great Yarmouth I think the inspiration will be quite obvious:
When I was little I always remembered riding both the snail rides in Great Yarmouth and anticipating which snail I might end up on. So it was really important that I capture that in this ride. It was a little tricky coming up with designs because even with the new scaling feature I was limited to parts that could shrink small enough to fit on the snails head. I wanted to do a Viking snail, and a diver snail to fit with the new themes, these however just didn't look right.
Eventually I ended up with 8 designs I am happy with. My question for all of you is which is your favourite? I've created a poll so we can see which snail is holding up the lines (either for being too popular, or the one that everyone is avoiding).
1. Beige - The posh snail
From the start I knew I wanted to have one with a top hat and monocle. In PC1 these parts already existed, but for PC2 It was a bit trickier to find the right parts.
2. Purple - The magical snail
The rim of the wizard hat ended up being more floral than planned, but I liked the way it looked.
3. Red - The fancy snail
This one was meant to be wearing a fez but once I found this curled up curtain piece it reminded me of Hyacinth Bucket and I rather liked it.
4. Yellow - The regal snail
I love that this piece taken from the themed RMC coaster looks a lot like a crown.
5. Blue - The legal snail
Loved how this mythological piece looks like the old fancy wigs judges wear. I didn't want a black shell though to complete the judge look so I settled on blue.
6. Brown - Mohawk snail
As soon as I found this Viking piece that looked like hair I had to include it.
7. Green - The gardener snail
Not sure if I quite pulled of the gardener look, it actually looks more like a leprechaun (especially as the hat looks like a 4 leafed clover from above).
8. Pink - Unicorn party snail
This one was just good fun!
Also if anyone has suggestions for any of the snails names I'm considering adding names onto the ride cars (assuming I can shrink the text small enough).
I have a lot of theming planned for this ride, all of which will be revealed when I start sharing progress on the park.
