Peppa Pig by Merlin

It appears that Merlin have won the license for Peppa Pig themed attractions and areas outside the UK.

Obviously the UK license is held by Paultons who have done a fantastic job and really made it work for them so it will be interesting to see how the Merlin parks version compares.

When we were at Paulton's last year I inadvertently mentioned Merlin while in the office and got told jokingly that word was banned on the premises and not to utter it again if I wanted to stay lol, cannot see them being pleased with this development.

Well Merlin are not allowed to use the IP in the UK and I doubt Merlin's use of Peppa Pig elsewhere around the world will have any impact on Paultons Park. So they won't be all that bothered. However I wonder how long their existing licence agreement is for?

The reason I said I can't see them being pleased is if Merlin make a hash of this it might reflect badly on them to foreign visitors, granted a long shot but say French Joe goes to Peppa Pig World in LeMans, finds it **** then discovers there's another one in England, even though he loves England (a stretch, I know) he might not know or care that it's run by a different company and much better because French PPW was **** so English one will be too.

Of course this all assumes French Joe both loves Peppa Pig and us Brits, an unlikely scenario I know lol
