Phantasialand: General Discussion

Phantasialand is reopening on 29th May with reduced capacity. I can only find it in German as the English page does not seem to have been updated.

Dear guests,

from May 29th 2020 the Phantasialand will be open again!

We look forward to welcoming you back soon and to preparing you a happy day full of unforgettable experiences!

We are currently working intensively on reopening to give you a parking experience where fun and joy are in harmony with the protection of health. Because the safety of our guests and employees is always our top priority.

It is important to us that Phantasialand is a place of joy where everyone feels comfortable. We want you to be able to spend a carefree day with the whole family, on which you can leave everyday life behind and share happy experiences. We have therefore decided to open the theme park to a limited number of guests until further notice. You therefore need an online ticket for the visit, which must be purchased in advance for a fixed date. These day tickets are only available in our online shop, initially we will start with the tickets until the end of June.

In addition, we have of course drawn up regulations on distance and hygiene, which apply immediately in Phantasialand.
Mutual respect and respect make shared experiences possible in this time. So let's take care of each other - and experience fantastic things together in our lively themed worlds.

We look forward to you!

Your Phantasialand team

^No one is crazy enough to put that above income. They simply said they want less immersion disturbing measures. Such as single colour black or silver tape and using plant pots to mark queue spaces and distancing.

Compared to the garish multi coloured tape or temporary fences seen at shops or recent pictures from Efteling.

Of course though whether the authorities approve those measures remains to be seen anyway. But its nice they think of making queues somewhat nicer, after all virtual queuing like EP is proposing won't be possible in a park that small, they'll need the queues to hold people.

In other news Talocan is back from its holidays (servicing/overhaul) and ready for the summer season.

Just looking at the space on either side of the gondola is giving me palpitations :tearsofjoy:

It’s going to be interesting to see what the overall impact on capacity is going to be. Space is such a premium at Phantasialand that if you’re not in a queue there really aren’t many other places where you can be. Given how tight some of the areas are I wonder if they might look to implement a one-way system of sorts in places...

Lovely to see one of the world's best top spins returning after a nice relaxing holiday! I wonder what rides are likely to remain closed!

Out of interest, is it the amazing-looking effects & theming that make Talocan so highly acclaimed? Or does it run on a great cycle? Or both?

Both; it's easily one of the most intense and highly themed flat rides on the planet.

The only downside is if you end up on the side of the gondola facing the wall at the back. The real spectacle is at the front so you can see the fire.

Ah right; thanks guys! I always thought Talocan looked cool, and it’s one of those rides you always see shared on Facebook! So with regard to popularity and eye-catching effect, then I think Phantasialand did very well with it!

Crazy Bats definitely will be closed I'd think. Europa Park won't be using VR until restrictions are relaxed; they'll undoubtedly have to do the same. Wonder whether they'll just run it without as plain old Temple or keep the coaster closed. I can also imagine that with the 3D glasses and guns Maus au Chocolat will present a problem.

Winjas will be an interesting one to see too. Easy enough to manage from a ride perspective due to the single party vehicles, but that queueline will be a challenge to keep groups distanced in. Cramped, contained and dark.

I wonder if they’ll use the fire exits opposite Hollywood Tour so that they can have a single file outdoor queue rather than filling the enclosed cattlepen fully?..

So is it likely that the Funhouse will be closed as well because it's not very easy to social distance in there!!

Better still, it’ll be interesting to see how Temple/bats can keep dodging the bullet for it’s eventual removal. If it wasn’t for the dinner show and being on the “tricky” side of the park it would probably be long gone.

As they keep making improvements all over the park, I think in the long term that area where Crazy Bats is currently now is up next for redevelopment!
