Phantasialand: General Discussion

I quite literally walked on to Crazy Bats, as in when we got to the station there was someone holding up two of the headsets for us and we sat directly in the car without having to stop once in the queue, and even then it felt like a massive waste of time. It would probably be a decent attraction at a mall in the middle of nowhere but when you have some of the greatest coasters on the planet a short walk away the contrast is embarrassing. So, you made the right call. Glad to hear the rest of the trip was great, it's really a world class park. A shame that Chiapas wasn't running as it's just as impressive as FLY and Taron in its own way, but a great excuse for a return trip

One thing I forgot to mention is the signage at the park is incredible! There are digital displays everywhere with a list of queue times and arrows to rides and facilities making it really easy to find anything (except Crazy Bats but based on comments here perhaps they’re deliberately hiding it).

Glad to hear you had a great trip mate, and that you and your son had a blast on F.L.Y. What I wouldn’t do to be at Phantasialand right now!

Poor Crazy Bats. I legit really enjoyed it, despite a little bit of motion sickness towards the end. I don't know if it was just the exact seat or whatever other circumstances but it's the only time I've had a good experience with a VR adaptation, it fitted perfectly into the motions and added a lot to the ride. As ever, tastes and opinions vary!

Crazy Bats is definitely the best 3d coaster I've been on, really impressive how at one point it genuinely felt like you were going backwards. I went on it before it was Crazy Bats and it doesn't go backwards.

Whilst its a relic of the parks history I could point too a number of other sites around the park I'd say need modernising more before removing that coaster.

The only ride experience I felt genuinely ill during.

I would not mourn it if that back area was on the list for development.
Have to admit despite enjoying it I did start to feel sick during the last 3rd. Fundamental problem with the technology really.

I wonder if there's anything that can be done for these type of rides without just plopping a headset on. I guess if Haunted Mansion is good with slow doom buggies then arguably using good animatronics, soundtrack and a thought out story could do wonders but maybe it's just too hard to do if you're going past everything just a bit too fast.

I’m still slightly annoyed we didn’t ride it but more for box ticking than missing out.

If you don’t wear the VR is it pitch black or a warehouse? What was the experience before VR?
