Photos Now £20 for Unlimited Downloads

Was at Towers yesterday and it seems as though Picsolve have paid us a little attention , they are now offering unlimited onride photos in digital only versions for £20.

It doesnt include Ceebeebies land, when I asked why, I was told it was because BBC own Ceebeebies land !!!!! Im 99% sure that isnt right and suspect its about towers trying to claw back the cost of licensing .

Yesterday we collected a total of 25 photos,all for £20 quid and then used my printer to print em off.

Does anyone know where I can get the back grounds that picsolve put the onride photos into online that I can lso print off?
 
They probably do have certain licensing restrictions for the beeb, they're pretty tight on their IPs.

20 quid though, for unlimited photos all day?

I think that's as high as that price can go they really pitched this at the top end but for me it JUST squeezes in as an OK price. Just.

I would consider it at that price point, but any higher no way, and the lack of the newest area also makes it a bit.... hmmm actually.
 
Good idea, but the price is way too high given that you're not getting a physical copy of anything.

I'm sure they'd make some money if they offered MAP/AP holders unlimited digital photos for a season for £30. I doubt any of us spend £30 in a season on ORPs at Towers anymore, and it wouldn't cost them anything to do. I'd probably pay it!

Edit: it would also have the advantage of making the photo points look more popular and therefore attractive to the general public.

Its a shame Sonic has such crap results tho, I understand its a tricky ride to get photos on, just a shame

We'd get the photo pass again at the current price point

Any higher and I agree maybe not , but £20 to me is about perfect.

They offered a printed copy for £5 each once you had the pass also(tho thats been an offer without the pass for the last 2 weeks)

Because the majority of visitors probably don't go on 25 rides with ORPs all day, nevermind consider buying 25 of those photos?

The average family do not want 25 photos in one day, they may want about 7 or 8, tops. It's a good deal per photo, but £20 is still quite a lot of money to spend on top of all the rest of the day's expenses. £10 for unlimited digital photos might be a better deal.
 
If it were £20 for 8, then its only £2.50 each

The reason we got some many as its generally 2 photos per ride as there were 4 of us , then RMT is 2 per rider and it takes 2, so thats 4 photos, normally you'd only consider buying one , not getting all 4 etc etc etc .

Tho I agree i'd love a MAP annual photo pass, I heard that Thorpe Park have one for £25 for the year? with unlimited photo downloads.
 
I suppose if you're in a fairly large group, say 5+ people then it might be worth it. Everyone chips in an equal amount of money (e.g. £4 each if there's 5) and then the pass can be used for everyone all day.

I do, anything over 2 people, who ride the rides with ORP's and I feel that 20 quuid is spot on, any more and im out.

Is it true re thorpe park does anyone know?
 
Ultimately, it's a cheaper way of getting photo's for yourself than has been otherwise, so I can't really see a problem here. Even if you were to only get 7-8 photo's, it's a pretty good deal.

I do wish Picsolve would consider an Annual Pass season photo pass deal, something like £40 for digital copies all year...

@AstroDan I think the only real point of contention as far as I am concerned is the lack of CBeebies area, I can understand there are probably IP issues but it does make the park wide photo service feel a little fragmented and that's a big family draw right now.

I think the deal is top end price but worth it JUST, any higher though for one day and it's too much.
 
i think its pretty good £20 for unlimited downloads , a lot better than £10 for a copy and a download.

If a lot of people are in a group, what's to stop you writing all the other numbers down when you go to the booth, pretty cheap if 4 of you or more.
 
How do the costs of paper and ink in printing it at home factor in to this?
 
My relatives have suitcases full of photos, some go back like 100 years or something ridiculous like that, can you imagine in a 100 years people will have suitcases full of Nokias and Samsungs and old hard drives.

"Let me show you this picture, now, where did I put that charger"
 
One plus point to working as a printer lol, unlimited colour digital print outs

However if they did £10 for one digital picture on each ride then i think they would do even better
 
The digital downloads thing was trialled in August then pulled - they seem to be trying all sorts of things so it may not be available when busier..

They can't do CBeebies on it as BBC will have a revenue share. How would you work out the revenue share of something that potentially won't be used in that land? (Revenue share mentioned in articles online when CBeebies Land was announced).
 
Thorpe Park offer a season pass of unlimited downloads for £25, why is there such disparity between merlin parks, until this weekend it was £10 quid per photo , no option for a season pass or unlimited downloads in a day, whilw thorpe have had these season passes for digital photos for quite a while now
 
I think it's a rip off tbh. Considering the equipment is already there, the photos are not edited to any great extent and hosting 25 images online would cost very little... it seems more of a large price to provide them with a big profit. I guess like everything else at theme parks is OK for those who have the money/are happy to pay that much.

Strange there aren't season photo passes. Potential money to be made with AP holders there.
