Why not all have a go at this, I found it fascinating and credit to Noo (Jonathon) for posting his in shoutbox for me to find.

So onto my results, I was quite shocked by mine in all honesty. I believe in the freedom to be ambitious, to achieve, and to express and live well by each individuals talents whatever they may be - and I believe society can support this with a more localised individualised focus. Why not?

Big business is why not. I am entrepreneurial, and I believe in the freedom of business and aspiration, just not at the extreme societal and environmental cost that is prevalent right now. I don't believe anyone whom truly consulted an open conscience could support this present system that rewards greed, "oneupmanship", corruption, and total self interest. So does that make me a mild social/liberal, with right leaning tendencies? Apparently not.

I'm quite happy with my results, I do tend think of myself as being pretty much in the middle. I was worried that I would end up in the purple zone but I think it's just being a member of this forum which has made me feel much more right wing than I am.

I'm being trained as a Product Design Engineer and I think that to produce good products, good engineering and good theme parks in fact, a capitalist society is necessary. I believe that any social model that is too far left leaning just kills all creativity as there's no need for it.

I think as a general rule, consumer products should be made by private companies and that governments should stay well away from that area as when they get involved, they tend to ruin everything.

However, I think that services such as public transport, healthcare and road maintenance should be government run. If the rail network was excellent and if the fares were low or even free, I'd be happy to pay massive taxes for it.

So I suppose I have a strange mix of capitalist and socialist ideals.

What we have in the UK is far from perfect, but there is no such thing as a perfect model and I think I'd rather live here than many parts of the world. We like to whinge a lot but we really don't have it too bad here.

Apparently I'm quite left wing, despite seeing myself as more centre-left. I might just think that way because a lot of people on the left irritate me to no end.
 
I was quite surprised with mine tbh. Socially speaking I'm quite left wing, I believe in universal healthcare, prisons that are more about rehabilitation than punishment, all drugs to be legalised, gender equality, all the usual left wing stuff. :p But economically speaking I thought I'd be a bit more to the right than I am, somewhere near the middle, so I'm surprised that I'm actually a fair bit towards the left.

Economically speaking, I did a bit of looking into it and I can say that I see myself as a Social Capitalist. While I'm don't like the far right capitalism that is the system in western society today, I do think that capitalism is the right system, just that it's been ruined by greed. Plus considering I want a career in business, it would be kinda hypocritical to say I'm against capitalism. :p

As unreliable (very) as it is, the timeline ones are very interesting.

As the economy becomes more free, the people become less free. Which for me, tells you everything about Capitalism.

Just going to plug this survey which asks people to vote for policies of one of the 6 main parties but without telling the participants which policy belongs to who: http://voteforpolicies.org.uk/

It's provided some predictable and some very surprising results. Although it's probably worth noting that it's out of date and based on the 2010 manifestos. No doubt both Labour and the Lib Dem's policy would be vastly different with their lurch to the right.
 
To be honest, that seems even less reliable than the compass. Especially as knowing each parties manifesto will influence the choices. If you see a policy you agree with but recognise the party, you'll not choose it if you don't like the party, and the other way around, choosing a policy just because it's the party you most agree with.

I got 100% Green party ahahaha. :p
