Quick Questions

why do galactica and oblivion no longer have shops when nearby stores (buy the smiler and bunker 94) don't have their merch?

The stores for Oblivion and Galactica disappeared years ago. There used to be a small section (like 1 rack) in the Smiler shop for Oblivion merch, no idea if it's still there though.

Bunker 94 is specifically for Nemesis/Phalanx/Toxicator merch. If Galactica ever gets rethemed into the Forbidden Valley/Phalanx/Nemesis lore then it may well get some new merch added in there.

Lack of sales, essentially. Thirteens shop is no longer there either.

Towers Trading and Bunker 94 are both at entry/exit points of the park. People are more likely to spend on first entry or while exiting the park.

Smiler and Wicker both gather very large queues for most of the day. The footfall through their exit shops is vast. Whilst Oblivion and Thirteens shops were along the route of the exit, both you could bypass should choose to. You cannot bypass the shops on smiler and wicker.

Oblivion shop got cut during the big park cuts post Smiler crash, as well as 13 and the Rita shop.

Galactica was a little later when it got cut, and I guess now we have Bunker 94 there is no need for that to return.

How many unused Shop and Food Outlets are their within the park and why aren't they being used
I don’t know an exact number, but I’d take a stab at there still being a fair few, even though the number has decreased in recent years.

In terms of why they aren’t being used, mass cuts to staffing following the post-Smiler crash downturn in visitor numbers is the reason in many cases. Things like baggage holds and entrance hosts briefly went for a similar reason, although these were reinstated in some cases.

Towers St Bar and Grill
Spinball Noodles
Courtyard BBQ
CCL Theatre Shop
13 Shop
Galactica Shop
Oblivion Shop
+ Dark Forest arcade

Because: reasons.
I do wonder how many buildings actually have faults with them given a few are nearly 45 Years old. Particularly the ones in the World of David Walliams

I suspect most of those buildings are probably in reasonably good condition to be honest. Most of them haven't been completely out of action whilst they've not been guest facing, so would still be getting regular maintenance.

It was only just built when RCR opened.

Opened 2016, closed by 2019 I think

Edit, make that 2021.
Galactica Store was cleared out for Covid in 2020 and never reopened. I believe the last time it was open as a shop was the end of the 2019 season.

Cheers, doubted myself after saying 2019 and looked at a couple of maps but the 2020 map I was using was probably the original version before Covid arrived. Should have gone with my gut!

I believe the Galactica shop is now used for RCR, it used to be storage room of drinks, old chairs and stuff. But I believe this season they have added a door from the shop into the actual restaurant. So I’m guessing it’s still store room but can now be accessed from the restaurant.

They would have lost their main store room when Bunker 94 came, as that building is where they used to store a lot of things.
