Redevelopment of Katanga Canyon

I remember seeing a YouTube video probably around lockdown time or before in which the creator designed an Intamin Blitz that reused parts of the rapids trough for near miss s-bends. Of course as much as I’d love to see that, a Mack Rocking Boat is much more likely, and I would actually start seeing some promise in the future of Towers if they got one.
 
I don’t ever want to imagine a Katanga without RMT.
if you, hypothetically combined the rapids troughs, lake and station there would be plenty of space for one of those fun new Mack boat/coaster things like Dolly is getting. But then you’d be really struggling for water rides on park; a simple big boat shoot the shoot like tidal wave would be perfect. build in the coach park with access from those big gates near the Katanga sign which always looked intentional the area becomes slightly larger to accommodate but keeps its overalllook and feel. Pizza pasta into a tiki bar overlooking the new river ride too please
 
Not to add more fire to the theory that Katanga Canyon is next to be developed but the app has updated today adding all the rides back after the Feb half term event and the only 2 rides missing are RMT and CRR. I would have expected CRR not to appear as it usually opens later in the season but RMT missing is strange. It's probably just a mistake but we shall see.

Could be that they have no intention of opening either ride at opening, or it could just be nothing. CRR sometimes doesn’t open with the rest of the park so it’s not a big loss in March but RMT would be a hit in terms of family offerings.

Weirdly it’s only just occurred to me how easily Katanga Canyon can be isolated from the rest of the park with the Wicker Man bypass, because I’ve always considered it a core part of the perimeter walking around it. It is an awfully big space if they wanted to redevelop, but one would hope RMT gets a refurb if so and not get scrapped!
 
I don't think Congo River Rapids is going anywhere the station during fireworks looked to be receiving some work
