Ride Access Pass Systems and Disabled Access (pre 2024)

I know it’s annoying but it makes perfect sense. It’s only for a few months it’s not permanent it’s just what happens unfortunately. This is what to expect with social distancing in the parks it’s just one of those things unfortunately things on the parks wasn’t ever going to be straight forward.

The fact they jumped right to "oh there disabled we can shove them to the side to make things easier" is pretty bad.

It’s only 4 rides if they really wanted to push the disabled people aside they would of shut off all rides for rap. If the ride platform or queuing system isn’t suitable for rap then hands are tied.
 
If there is no way for RAP except via exit. Why not send a staff member after the last rider. Then bring x number back up the exit, whist the ride is being cleaned for the next group.

Come on let’s get serious here how often will someone on this forum using a rap use river rafts or griffins galleon?. It’s a maximum of 2 rides lost for some rap users. It’s not a massive deal at the end of the day sometimes it may look simple on paper but executing it can be harder. Everyone knows how woeful the throughputs of the rides are and that sort of thing. It’s not the whole park that’s the main thing there’s plenty of other rides.

Right but rattlesnake would be easy to do properly, when they aren't doing the easy right thing there's a problem.
For rides where there's literally no easy way to social distance they maybe they get let off.

Even if RAP and fast track was the same queue. Or shockingly, the main queue could even just be made wheel-chair accessible, therefore only those who cannot wait in line (usually autism related) will need to use fast-track entrance or the exit.

How? It's in a pit, it has very restricted access points.

Reasonable adjustments is all they have to, and to be quite honest should, make. They can not destroy the ride opperation for all to accommodate everyone when it is entirely impractical to do so.

These are not normal times, it should be short term, everyone is going to have to accept there will be things that can't be overcome for all.

This has been suggested before but wheelchair users are the main reason RAP was created in the first place

Correct. The whole point of systems like the RAP is step-free access, to enable wheelchair users to access rides they otherwise wouldn't be able to reach.

Considering they will be pausing operation frequently for cleaning they could hold rap at the exit.
It's very much doable and it's not exactly going to be throughput worse then it will be.

For the newest rides there is no reason why Chessington couldn’t have done this.

Legoland tried having mobility not using rap, it didn't end well.

The main queues would have to be a lot wider to accommodate wheelchairs, and switchbacks would have to be modified slightly so they can get around the corners. Not really practical if you ask me.
 
It seems a bit pointless as you can't reasonably redesign existing queue lines to be step-free, which means you'd inevitably create a two-tier system. You'd have some people using main queue on certain rides and RAP on other rides whilst some people used RAP on all rides. It's unnecessarily complicated

That's why the Legoland trial of that system failed.
Mind you it's complicated as it is with wheelchair users having seperate entrances anyway.
