Ride Availability/Operations 2022-24

Yes I'd like to know too, apparently one guy claims parts have gone to zodiac...
Well of that was the case then Enterprise we would officially be doomed, bit I've heard that sections of the wheel are back in place. Time will tell what actually happens with it though. 🙂

It wouldn't be the first time that bits and bobs have moved between the north and south. As I recall, there's a significant amount of Zodiac that has been in Staffordshire at one point or another. Weren't the Zodiac cars originally from Cyclone at DMP?

It would make some level of sense that if Zodiac had needed a part over the last few months, they might have taken it from Alton rather than wait for shipment.

The whole of Cyclone became Zodiac. Drayton Manor sold it to Thorpe Park as a complete ride. It was purchased brand new by Drayton Manor in 2004.

I believe it was shortly after Thorpe Parks enterprise lost a vehicle with passengers on. Drayton were looking to sell at the same time due to noise complaints. Despite being brand new from the factory in 2004. It only lasted a season or two at Drayton Manor..

It looks like work has been done around the main ride mechanism on both pictures, so maybe it’s not for the chop just yet perhaps. Surely if it was going they would have fully dismantled it by now rather than leaving it in this state?

Yep, that's white contrast paint for NDT, it will have been done over winter at some point by a 3rd party. Usually the paint is removed afterwards but in this case it seems they haven't done any work on it all, possibly due to them not being able to obtain parts for it. Going off those two photos I wouldn't be surprised if no-one has even set foot in the ride area since March

I think we have four options for that site next season
1. Enterprise is open (goodness knows how they would bodge it and how long until it falls apart again)
2. Enterprise sits in decay (something I associate more with Thorpe)
3. Enterprise is removed and replaced either like-for-like or with a new ride
4. Enterprise is replaced by a memorial garden like Submission.
I'm hoping for option 3 but I'm not holding my breath.

I honestly couldn't care less if it ever opened again. To their credit, Merlin spent staggering amounts of time, money and effort on Slammer, but the pay off was much greater.

Enterprise feels like something that you could put a pin in fairly easily, if other flats hadn't gone.

TAER IT DOWN!1!!!111!!1!!1!!!1!1111!
(If you understand that reference you're old).

I would be shocked if we saw Enterprise come back now. We are so far in to the season and it looks like nothing at all has been done; in that photo above the ride area is becoming an overgrown mess.

A pity, the park can't really be affording to lose more permanent flat rides.

Is the black netting still up in a feeble attempt at trying to hide this mess, or is it now fully on show for everyone to see?

Mad how they’ve just left it like this with bits of metal thrown around the site and tools just chucked on the floor. Not a good brand image.

It's quite saddening to have a last ride on something without realising it. I expected another few years out of Enterprise. Sad to see it go out like this.
I rode it last summer for what I was pretty sure would be the last time. It hadn't been that reliable leading up to our trip and I got a feeling it was on the way out. It's pretty nauseating tbh, I wouldn't miss it if there were better permanent flats coming in to replace it.

True but it was a ride that should've gone like 10 years ago because it is old fashioned. Same with blade. Towers need new and interesting flats

They do need new flats, but there is nothing wrong with keeping older rides alongside them. I still think even today an Enterprise ride is quite visually impressive off ride, and it fits so well in to that part of X-Sector.
