Ride Availability/Operations 2022-24

Hopefully they reopen it on the "fairground" setting.

I'm sure this season it's a lot more sedate than it has been in the past.

Availability yesterday was very good, everything bar 13 (on 2) and Smiler (on 3) on max trains. Only breakdowns I saw was Curse (possibly may have been delayed rather than broken?) and Rita went down once. Ops on Oblivion were terrible though.

On the all rides having full capacity comment, is Sub-Terra even running all 4 towers yet? It was only on 3! Regardless, it's not filling all 10 seats when all 4 are running, so that's not full capacity being used on every ride even if it is running 4 towers.

I've removed a large number of off topic posts in this thread.

As a reminder (yet again), this is a topic to discuss ride availability. It's not to argue the toss about which is your favourite/worst ride on park.

Really impressed with the ops and availability today!

Slow start with dark forest as usual, and most rides ceased operation for a bit due to the heavy rain, but in terms of actual ‘downtime’, only smiler was majorly affected and even that operated well for most of the day!

Few things I noticed about operations:
- oblivion seemed to have great operations, with 5 cars, and dual loading!
- Wickerman - our longest queue of the day at 60 minutes, seemed to only have 2 trains so both would dispatch in quick succession then there would be a long pause until the process repeated which was a bit annoying.
- galactica pretty much had a 5 min queue all day, with both stations drastically helping! Same with Th13teen with its 3rd train being used again, they kept overestimating the queue, with it saying 25 min but actually being 5

Overall, every ride (bar wicker) seemed to handle the queues and operations really well for Alton’s standard, and apart from the hour spent in the queue for wicker, our longest wait for a ride was RMT at 15 mins

Rides that have been on the availability page as of today at some point during this year, or have had multiple days of continued closure and haven't been on the list include:
Hex
Skyride
Nemesis Reborn
Nemesis Sub-Terra
Flavio's Fabulous Fandango
Heave Ho
Congo River Rapids (twice)
The Curse at Alton Manor (was never on the list but was closed for 3 consecutive days)
TH13TEEN (not on the list but had a couple days of continuous closure)
Peter Rabbit Hippity Hop (3 days closure a few weeks ago)
Raj's Bouncy Bottom Burp (experienced 4 days of closure during the period where Sub-Terra, Rapids were closed)
The Blade (was closed across 2 separate occasions towards the start of the season for multiple days)

Add to this that there have been occasions where some rides have not opened until late afternoon (this has occurred on Galactica, Rita, Oblivion, Spinball Whizzer, Runaway Mine Train and The Smiler AT LEAST once across the season) and it makes for pretty abysmal reading.

The ride availability really is terrible, and it's pretty inexcusable.

I've just no interest in going again. We need to plan our summer trips for our son and i'm favouring drives to Europe over AT after this year's trip. The park is borderline unvisitable unless you're either very lucky or visit off peak which is such a shame. The baseline level of operations seems so poor.

I read the most atrocious trip report from yesterday on another site, including Nemesis being closed all day, pretty much every other major ride down at points and a 2h 40 queue for Rita!! That's in July. It's inexcusable.

In fact i looked just now, Nemesis closed all day, Rita closed, Thirteen closed, Smiler on 120 mins...

a 2h 40 queue for Rita!! That's in July. It's inexcusable.
I’m more impressed that Rita can actually hold a 160 min queue. The queue line isn’t even that big compared to some of the other coasters. Unless the operations were really bad
