Looks like safety guidelines have been updated across multiple rides at all Universal parks to say guests with wheelchairs must be able to walk unaided to various rides now.

Woman dies after riding Haunted Mansion attraction at Disneyland
The Anaheim Police Department have said “there is no indication of any operating issue with the attraction"
A woman in her 60s has died after riding the Haunted Mansion attraction at Disneyland. The Anaheim Police Department confirmed that the woman was unresponsive immediately after exiting the ride.

Absolutely despicable
There's a danger of the ride crew becoming complacent, through absolutely no fault of their own, as eventually they may start thinking "oh here's another one", only for it to be real.

In a move that makes me angry at the world, some witnesses to the Melbourne Show coaster v's pedestrian incident of a couple of years back are trying to sue for the trauma. For some reason they are suing the operator rather than the person who climbed into the ride are to retrieve their property and inevitably got struck by the train.

Unfortunately the way society is now, if you're killed or injured doing something idiotic someone else is invariably at fault for not telling you to not be an idiot.
I'm not sure when it became the responsibility of organisations to educate people in basic common sense, I thought this was something parents were supposed to do.
