Ride/Park Accidents

I’m not usually one for “ban x ride”, but watching that panorama piece and seeing how the majority of the accidents mentioned are on Safeco Jump’s, combined with other videos on the subject - you do have to wonder, why haven’t they been banned yet in the UK? It’s blatantly obvious that the ride as a whole (or at least the Safeco version) is a problem, and most of the documented incidents on this ride type seem to have happened in the UK, so why hasn’t something been done about it?

Plus the fact the manufacturer is defunct now and you can’t even get OEM parts for the things. It’s mad.

Not really many clues in this but the article does suggest its ride-related

Emergency services descended on a funfair in Wigan on Sunday (June 22) after an incident.
Fire crews, police and paramedics were called to the Meadowbank Playing Fields, on Formby Avenue, during the Atherton Carnival, shortly before 3pm.

This article mentions that police confirmed that it involved a ride;

Could be a bit of both. You probably do get more fun fairs, and more people going to fun fairs, at certain times of year. Amusement accidents don't tend to be distributed evenly through the year. Although I don't have any specific stats about fair attendance and how it changes through the year.
