Rita's Track

^ Yup.
It's not the only coaster at Alton to do this. Air's lift hill has the same green at the top, and Corkscrew used to as well.
I could be wrong, but I think Rita didn't have this at first, and it was repainted after it opened? So you never know, they may have to paint the top of The Smiler green one day if someone complains. (There have been a few photos taken from outside the park where the track is clearly visible).

While the Black will be difficult to see, I think the Bright Yellow, Flashing Lights (at night), could be easily view able from outside the park, I think looking at some of the photos Rob took, if you drop a giant 5 legged robot with Bright Yellow markings it is going to stand out a little.
My initial post was in jest, but it would not surprise me if someone does complain about it at a later date.

But all these things are going to be below tree line, so unless you're stood dead opposite X-Sector on the road outside they won't really be seen outside of the park. Remember the spider was one of the things they needed planning permission for I believe

There's pictures on ATA of Rita being constructed showing the hills matching the rest of the track. Apparently they got complaints before it even opened so had to repaint it.DiogoJ42 said:^ Yup.

Chaz said:^well, we all know a certain family living nearby that won't appreciate a new coaster being built where it currently is.
I've seen this 'certain family' mentioned a few times...who are they?

The Ropers. They contest most things Towers put planning applications in for and generally dislike the park a lot! If you google their name along with Alton Towers you should find plenty of news articles relating to court battles they've had with the park in the past
