Scarefest 2025

I'd much rather they scrapped the whole idea of multiple routes. It's great for the MAP holding locals, but when you only get to do the maze once, you feel very cheated knowing you only got to see a tiny portion of it.
Multiple routes is good. If you do it a few times. But I do think it would be better to have one route and make it twice as long for all guests.

Oh, I totally get it; for those lucky enough to visit daily, it adds repeat value.
But when you only get to go once, and do each maze once, it leave a bitter taste.

Good to see they've brought back the entry and maze bundles this year. Entry and the thrills combo is from £72, with entry and the family duo from £50.

Although currently only a saving of £3 on some days (£37+38) and no saving at all if you go on one of the £34 Fridays. I expect ticket prices will go up closer to the day though!

Fat lot of use ChatGPT is! (but haven't told it so, so it'll spare me when it inevitably takes over the world and destroys the human race)

It’s intriguing that the word “leshwall” appears on a wall in the COMPOUND scare maze at Alton Towers—it certainly feels like it could be a hidden clue or puzzle element rather than just random decoration.

Could it be a clue?

While there’s no direct reference online to “leshwall” connected to COMPOUND or Alton Towers specifically, Player communities often speculate that such text may hint at:
  • Secret messages or codes for puzzle hunters within the maze.
  • Foreshadowing to be revealed in future storyline developments.
  • Or simply atmospheric theming, designed to unsettle or intrigue visitors.

What about anagrams?

Let’s reconsider potential multi-word anagram phrases using all the letters in leshwall:
  • “We shall”
  • “She wall”
  • “He walls”
  • “Wall hess” (less meaningful, but using all letters)
Of these, “we shall” stands out as the most grammatically coherent and potentially purposeful—perhaps implying “We shall…” something ominous, fitting for a horror maze setting.

Final thoughts

  • It’s possible “leshwall” is an encrypted hint or teaser—especially if it appeared with intentional placement and styling.
  • It might be worth browsing fan forums (like r/altontowers or TowersStreet) to see if puzzle solvers have picked up on any recurring references or decoded hints.
  • If you took photos or note of the context (colors, lighting, positioning), sharing them with an Alton Towers fan community might help unlock more insights.

It’s kinda funny how the whole “tinys revenge” tagline has been dropped for Mine Tours on the website this year. Almost as if they realise that it’s basically the same maze with minimal difference, calling it a new attraction in 2023 was completely misleading. I actually think it was a pointless downgrade as the story is just confusing as hell: like why are cheerleaders and weird masked men in the mines? Wasn’t tiny supposed to be like the skin snatchers ringleader but we never even hear about him in the maze?

I know Altonville gets a lot of hate, but it’s queueline through the tunnel and into the bowels of the towers is the most atmospheric maze at Towers.

The Attic was impressive also, but didn’t feel as threatening.

I think this is gonna be a great Scarefest.

Altonville Mine Tours Tiny's Revenge
Compound
New Scare Maze
Burial Grounds
New Scare Attraction
Trick or Treat Town
Amigos in the Afterlife
New location for shows.

Combination I think is very strong always love Altonville

And a new scare zone we’re assuming? Can’t think what else the second new thing would be (as long as it’s not another awful audio experience similar to The Invitation)
It could well be a direct replacement for Daz Games. After all the concept a of a more 'escape room' style attraction was a solid addition, it was the theme that was out of place.
