Scarefest 2025

for some updates:
burial grounds is being worked on (3:35), and some of the work for the 13 maze, it appears as though there is a proper brick wall, with propper metal hand rails (see 4:56)

From: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CfxcuhgguYY

As I mentioned before when someone got a better shot of those walls, they look like wheelchair ramp supporting walls and handrails on top. Maybe the actual queue, or a specific RAP/wheelchair access queue?

So Edge of the Forest and Dark Hollow are both themed to Dark Forest, I think they will both be solid additions. I've never done COMPOUND, and haven't done the Tiny's Revenge version of AMT. Only one of the 5 thrill attractions I've done is Burial Grounds so this is almost a completely fresh Scarefest for me. I'm glad I didn't keep paying to do old mazes so now I actually have something to look forward to
I've not done the Tiny's Revenge version either, but I've just noticed that it's only marketed as Altonville Mine Tours this year. Certainly interesting.

Edit- It does say Tiny's Revenge on the booking page, but not on the Scarefest section of the website.

The park have also released a VIP unlimited maze access pass again for Merlin and Alton pass holders, priced at £99.

I can only assume they might have brought this back as quite a few people were annoyed when it seemed this wasn’t returning this year, when Thorpe were offering it.

I genuinely think at this point they’d rather do anything than think about improving the theme parks they already have.

Distracted isn’t even the word.

Nemesis Reborn, Toxicator, Hex, Alton Manor and the Skyride: am I a joke to you?
MrCoaster, you do not understand. They do not count. They do not count because they should never have got into that state in the first place. Any money and effort that they have spent does not count.

We must also ignore that Thorpe Park had Hyperia last year. We must also ignore the Paw Patrol and Minecraft developments at Chessington World of Adventures. We must also ignore the hotel at Warwick Castle, built just last year. We must also ignore the two roller coasters at Legoland Windsor last year, the new entrance is also to be ignored.

We should especially ignore Legoland Shanghai, as that's not in the UK.

Merlin are standing still and are very distracted.

Merlin = Bad. Losing money. Doomed to fail. Now you understand!

Been thinking if any Scarefest Maze was to return from the past which would it be. I mean there is plenty I didn't experience and wish was here now like Sanctuary, Carnival of Screams, Boiler House, Room 13, Field of 1000 Screams, Terror of the Towers Original.

And which is plausible could return like Blair Witch did at Thorpe Park

Looking beyond 2025 I’m not sure where AT would put any future scare maze, baring in mind there’s been a concerted effort to get them out of the towers themselves.

Goal Striker Arcade area they have used previously for Carnival of Screams, Room in X Sector down on Submission and Enterprise plot, Lakeside Suite, Phalanx Training Facility, Nicklodeon Outta Control and 4D Cinema and more room behind those. the Area outside the Towers where Sub Species used to be. Plenty of Spaces to use for Scare Mazes

They squeezed in a purpose built building in between The Curse and the monorail yard that no-one saw coming (until the plans obviously). So there will be plenty of other areas they could do similar over the coming years. Who knows, in 4 or 5 years time, we could end up with 4 or more of those shipping container/tent combo structures that would be largely hidden during the year and opened up for Scarefest. That would be good, because it would really spread Scarefest around the park - something which many people have been crying out for for years.

Rumour is they aren’t allowed mazes in the towers anymore, so I think once mine tours go that will be the end.

My guess is they will probably build another one of these permanent mazes somewhere and we will get a new maze to replace mine tours there next year.

Not sure where, but I guess they’re got a good few areas of the park outside of public access where they could build one and get permission. Or we’ll see the goal striker or conference tent used.
