Scarefest 2025

Would've thought having additional experiences would be an improvement. Granted its behind a paywall but unfortunately you do have to pay your staff these days.

Your original point was "they’d rather do anything than think about improving the theme parks they already have."
Not sure how TripAdvisor is a metric of this? Would probably get much better reviews by cutting the food prices by a third but that doesn't really "improve the park" just lower the cost of visiting.

MrCoaster, you do not understand. They do not count. They do not count because they should never have got into that state in the first place. Any money and effort that they have spent does not count.

We must also ignore that Thorpe Park had Hyperia last year. We must also ignore the Paw Patrol and Minecraft developments at Chessington World of Adventures. We must also ignore the hotel at Warwick Castle, built just last year. We must also ignore the two roller coasters at Legoland Windsor last year, the new entrance is also to be ignored.

We should especially ignore Legoland Shanghai, as that's not in the UK.

Merlin are standing still and are very distracted.

Merlin = Bad. Losing money. Doomed to fail. Now you understand!
Fair, fair. But you've changed the topic a bit - you aren't talking about improvements here, but new developments. Did legoland ever have one of those duelling coasters like Minifigire Speedway? Warwick Castle has never had a hotel before. Hyperia is a UK record breaker! Chessington has never had a paw patrol or minecraft area. So what do they have to do with the rides I detailed earlier? After all, the rides and attractions you mentioned are NEW. The ones I mentioned are refurbished.

We seem to be getting a bit off topic. If we could return to discussing this year’s Scarefest event please, that would be great. :)

Any further off topic posts will be removed.

Starting to think I need to be more on the ball because I went to look at dates for the ghost tour and looks like there's none available!

There's a fence blocking off a wooded path just behind the path you'd use for Edge of the Forest and I'm wondering if that's were Dark Hollow will be specifically located

All being well, I'll be able to get to scarefest this year, so I'll be keeping an eye on this thread for a bit, and when I do go, I'll put my reactions here as well (Of course behind a spoiler tag)
If I can get to it, it'll be my first scarefest, so this will be entertaining to see how it goes

I think as your first Scarefest you'll really enjoy it (unless you find the mazes bad for whatever reason). I think the general criticism of Scarefest arises when you've been before a few times and things appear stale or not as good as previous years.

As this is the first Scarefest using the external entertainment company (RWS Global) and since the big budget cuts, I'm going into this (and fireworks) with low expectations so in theory I can only be pleasantly surprised!

Whatever happens, hope you have a great time. I'll be there on the 4th.

It ain't budget cuts costs the same just outsourced budget cuts are a lazy answer

Operationally the only real difference with Scarefest this year is that the actors will be under RWS, operation of the mazes are the same team as last year but now under what was formerly the Rides department.

To the best of my knowledge, the creative side of the mazes were transferred to Merlin Magic Making last year with the introduction of Compound, and they’ve designed Dark Hollow and Edge of the Forest this year.

It's not a lazy answer. Unless you have inside information on the budgets set at Towers in 2025 and/or how much money has been given to RWS to supply the entertainment (do share the info if you have it) you have no idea for sure if the budgets have been cut or not and they have, whether it is a big enough cut to see any tangible negative effects. And I'm not just talking about the Scarefest budgets. Other budgets [cuts] such as non-entertainment staffing could have an effect on the event too.

Ultimately we will find out this time next week after the first day of operation. End of the day, if it goes down as a superb event and guests love it then budgets and talk of cuts to them are pretty much irrelevant.

With the amount of new park staff who were being on boarded today, and shown various aspects of the park, I think they will be fine. Lots of brand new black and red coats being ushered around in large groups today.

As far as I'm aware, there haven't been any cuts to operational staff this year?

Maze tickets are booked for me for the first time in a few years. Never done COMPOUND so not sure what to expect. How different is Tiny's Revenge to the original AMT? I've done the original version but not the 2.0 version. Burial Grounds is the only one of the current thrill lineup I've done so I'm excited for a fresh line up for me.

Don't want spoilers on Tiny's Revenge just curious to know how different it is

Just expect to be separated from your group, it's quite intense but I really enjoyed it last year and can't wait to do it again in a couple of weeks.

I'd be curious to know this as well, as I've also only done the original!

I'm going through on my own, my family don't like doing them so there's no one for me to be separated from 🤣
I'm intrigued with Edge of the Forest as well so can't wait to experience that.
I think Burial Grounds is excellent so glad to go back through there, hoping Dark Hollow is just as good
