Single Riders

What rides would ypu like to see Single Rider on for me I personally think Nemesis Sub Terra, Congo River Rapids and Skyride should all have Single Rider as each always has empty seats

Don't really think any of these make sense. Sub-Terra has empty seats on purpose now because they don't fully load, they just load Rapids boats with one party when it's below a certain queue time and the Skyride is shared groups anyway.

Rita needs one ideally more than any of the others. Not sure if there's space for Nemesis Reborn or Wicker Man

I don’t see the logic of Skyride myself. Yes, there is inevitably wasted capacity on there, but the throughput is so high (almost 3,000pph, if I’m not wrong?) that the queue time tends to be negligible anyway.

I can see the logic behind the Rapids, though. That ride can get long queues in the summer, and I think these would reduce if they enforced boat sharing and more efficiently used its high throughput.

As @Danscott22 said, I’d really like to see one return to Rita, as those restraints are a faff to pull down for the staff when seats are unfilled. From a personal standpoint, Nemesis and Wicker Man would be great, but as neither ride was designed for one, I think it would cause more trouble than it’s worth.

They managed it with thirteen.

Oh how I miss the nemesis single rider queue.

The lucky and skilled could get off, jog round the stairs, smile nicely at the staff, and point out that the seat you just got off was still empty, and get back on again in the same seat, on the same train.
Quite often.

But it could slow things down.

I recall doing the same on a particularly quiet rainy day.

Nemesis Inferno once had one too, also at the ride exit.

The skyride cabins are not particularly comfortable if you're packed in like sardines. It's not a tube train, we don't need to fill every last bit of available space

Rita should have SRQ though, anything that shaves a few seconds off the loading time would be a help and having all seats filled would make things easier for the platform staff.

The Nemesis SRQ is the one queue i've missed so much since it was removed. As has been stated above I used to basically lap it for the last hour of the day and get back on the train i'd just got off many many times in a row. It was bliss!

I can understand it's removal though considering it was on thr opposite side of the station so required staff to check which seats were free, walk to the gate, let the rider know, and then wait for them to place bags and sit down. I always tried to be as fast and efficient as possible but that didn't always happen with other people,.

I'd honestly love for them to reinstate it and see how they got on.

Rita is my second pick for it to be added too. Surely there would be a way to integrate it, bit a of puzzle but not impossible!

I don't remember the old Nemesis and Rita SRQs, unfortunately (I visited AT while they would have been there, but I usually only used the main queues at the time).

I understand how the Nemesis one worked (at the exit side), but how did the Rita one work?

I've heard some people say that it was where the current Fast-track entrance is, but then where did the old Fast-track entrance used to be??

Was one of the queues removed to make way for the RAP queue? Or was Fast-track unavailable when the ride first opened?

P.S. I also don't remember the Sub-Terra SRQ, either, as it had already been removed by the time that I first visited the ride, and so I can't visualise where it would have been...

Rita's current FT entrance was originally the SRQ. From when the ride opened the removal of SRQ, FT would merge with the main queue near the tunnel under the launch track. Originally, both FT & SRQ entrances were opposite the main queue entrance. This layout was modified very slightly when Thirteen was added - see the TS Rita gallery for a 2009 photo: https://towersstreet.com/theme-park/ride/rita/#gallery (second photo in the Rita - Queen of Speed gallery). A more substantial change came a few years later when both entrances were moved to the main path but SRQ remained and FT still merged with main in the queue tunnel.

At some point the park realised that could get rid of 1 staff member by scrapping the merge point, with FT taking over what had been SRQ. The previous FT entrance/queue were abandoned, though never fully removed. More recently another queue has been built for RAP (previously it was just the wheelchair lift), which brings us to the present day.

As for Sub Terra - it was the last ride to open without a "proper" RAP entrance (it just had the wheelchair route to the bag store). The main difference is the signs over the queue entrances - the three routes were originally for SRQ (left), FT (middle) and main queue (right). I haven't been on for a while but I think it's FT-RAP-main nowadays. Again the TS archive gallery has photos showing the old layout
